as she was closing her eyes under the night sky
while he was gently caressing her hand
he said he would love her forever
because his love for her was infinite
and at that very moment, she believed him
she believed every single one if his lies
because she thought she was getting the love she deserved
and that their relationship, much like that moment, was perfect to her
but she didn't realize that forever is a very painful word
soaked in lies, empty promises and fake love
because she was blinded by the idea of perfection
in both him and their romance
and not even for a split second did she think
that they would both die and there would be no forever
and that perfection didn't exist
and that her mind was controlled by society
forever is a sweet lie that we blindly believe in
because it sounds so sweet and lets us dream
but we shall not dwell upon dreams
and rather focus on reality, as harsh as it might be
because realization hurts more than anything
