sleepover by hayley kiyoko

3 Months Later

"Leah, can you put these on the clearance rack?", my manager had asked.

I nodded as she handed me the cart filled with rejected clothing and hangers.

I proceeded to put the clothes on the hanger and then on the rack and then my phone had rang. I abruptly stopped what I was doing and pulled out my phone from my back pocket. I read the contact and smiled, answering almost immediately.

"Hey Leah-Bear.", Bex greeted into the phone, and I giggled at the stupid nickname she's been calling me for weeks.

"Bex I'm at work.", I tell her suggesting she call me another time.

"Can you take a break? I just got done recording for Voltron and I want to take you out to lunch.", She whined into the phone, and I playfully rolled my eyes.

"Bex.", I sternly say.
"Please. I'm already outside your job.", She begs and my mouth opens in surprise.
"Wow okay, give me 5 minutes.", I finally surrender.

"Yay!", Bex squeals, making me laugh before I hang up.

I walk to Francine, my co-worker in the next aisle.

"Francine can you handle these for me? I gotta go outside for a bit.", I tell her, my finger pointing towards the cart.

I smile, hoping she'll agree.
"Yeah, sure.", she nods with an approving face.

"Francine, you're the best!", I praise the tall, pale-skinned girl.

She laughs and I grab my jacket and run off.

--

"Shit, this pizza is fucking good.", I groan as I take a bite.
Bex laughs and I look up to see her phone camera up towards me.

"Bex, oh my god! Where are you posting that?!", I whine to her while trying to grab her phone.

"Just Snapchat.", She smirks evilly.
I bury my head in my hands, "You're the worst, you know that?"

"You love me though!", Bex grins, placing the back of her hands under her jaw innocently.

I roll my eyes and smile, "Haha, whatever."

"Hey, do you have work tomorrow?", Bex asks with a now more serious face.

I shake my head, stuffing the pizza in my mouth and taking another bite.
"Wanna have a sleepover?", she suggests.

"Sleepover? Bex, we're 22.", I giggle while wiping my hands with a napkin.

She furrows her eyebrows and her lips pucker, "One is never to old for a sleepover, Leah."

I nod, "Alright I'll text Viv."

Me: sleepover at Bex's?

Vivvy Baby 👸🏿: can't.

Me: why?
