Maplepaw shuffled her paws and sat with Duskpaw, waiting for Rosegold to emerge from the leader's den, "Duskpaw." She started, "Yes Maple?" He said nuzzling close to her, "I-I... Nvermind." She said closing her eyes and putting her face i. His chest fur, "Everything's going to be alright." He meowed hugging her. Rosegold emerged from the den dragging a blood-stained Lemonstream out, "She injured him!" Rose yowled and nodded her head towards Speckledfeather, the medicine cat. She walked inside the leader's den. Maplepaw heard more rustling in the ferns. She scented the air and looked around, "Its an ambush!" She yowled. All the cats turned around, curiosity blazing in their eyes. Suddenly, a bunch of cats jumped out of the ferns and growled. One cat was standing in the front, "Hello. I see you've figured out our trap. Im Snakestar." He growled, "Now that Rocketstar is dead-" Maplepaw stepped up and gave him a desth glare, "You will pay for this!" She hissed and unsheathed her claws, "Maplepaw. No!" Duskpaw yowled and held onto her tail so she wouldn't attack, "Haha. Ive heard of you Maplepaw, or should i say, Autumn?" He smirked as Maplepaw growled, "Im not ' Autumn' anymore."Well." If thats what you say. Now. Either hand us the land, give me Maplepaw, or I kill your clan." He mewed. "Answer , NOW." He demanded standing up, big and tall. "Never-" Rosegold began but was cut off by Maplepaw, "Ill go. But you have to leave my clan alone. Got it?" She meowed stepping forwards, "Maplepaw-" Duskpaw said stepping towards her, "I have to do this Duskpaw." She mewed and walked to Snakestar's side and lowering her head, tail, and ears, "Good girl. I have a special job for you." He said grabbing her by the chin and bringing her face close to his, "Pet." He pushed her away. As she stumbled to the floor, a cat pushed her up,"Get up, Pet." She growled but didn't do anything, "Now, well be taking our leave." He meowed and flicked his tail for his cats to follow, "Maplepaw, please don't." Said Duskpaw peering forward, "Sorry Duskpaw." She said turning away and not looking back, soon disappearing into the bushes.
