The crowd fell silent and started chanting her name, "Maplepaw. Maplepaw!" They chanted as Maplepaw was about to hop off of the Highrock, "Wait." Rocketstar protested, "your mentor shall be Rosegold." He said pointing towards the cat with the flower crowned cat. The cat came up to her and they touched noses, "Dismissed." He said and slipped into his den. Maplepaw saw the crowd leave and went into the apprentice den to meet the other apprentices. One black grey cat saw her and smiled, "Hi there. Maplepaw- was it? Im Duskpaw!" He said cheerfully walking towards her, "Hi there!" She smiled back as he licked her back, "uh." "You dont know how to share tongues?" He asked. She shook her head, "here just lick my ear." He said lowering his head. Maple paw licked the top of his ear, "its a friendly way of saying, hello, goodbye, or I love you." He said showing her, "Nice." She said sitting down, "I was just. Made an apprentice one moon ago." He said, "Thats nice." She said and wrapped her tail around her paws. He sat down with her and they chatted till sunset. "Oh. We'd better get to bed." He said and guided her to the apprentice den where there were 4 other cats, "Meet Windpaw, Reignpaw, Bluepaw, and Leafpaw." He said pointing with his muzzle towards them. They were all sleeping so they couldn't hear him, "okay goodnight then." He said, "goodnight." She said laying her head on the warm moss nest. When she woke up the next morning and stretched. She got up from her moss bed and walked towards the fresh kill pile,"Maplepaw!" She heard a voice call from behind. It was Duskpaw! "Hi there Duskpaw." She mewed turning towards him, "Would you like to go hunting with me, Moonheart, and Rosegold?" He said licking Maplepaw's cheek. She blushed a very light and noticeable pink, "Um. Sure." She said and stood up. They walked together towards Rosegold and Moonheart. Their fur brushed against each other making them both blush. "Hey guys. Were ready." Duskpaw said padding closer to them. Maplepaw followed and they all went out from the gorse tunnel.
