The bell chimed after a long and boring first period. 'You know, you could juse him sitting next to you as a chance to flirt' Teddy says as I walk to my next period. I roll my eyes, he doesn't understand why I haven't asked him out. Someone like him would never go for someone like me. 'Yeah, I could but It's only one class, what can I do in that 45 minutes?' I say. Teddy sighs dramatically and exclaims 'It's a classic love story, they fell in love in only 45 minutes ' I chuckle at his joke, and shake my head 'You watch too many hallmark movies'. I walk into my second period, Journalism. I've always loved writing, it's amazing how words on a page or paper can connect so many people. I find a desk in the back of the class where I know I can be alone. As soon as I sit down, a tall man with dark skin and pink hair walks in. "Welcome to honors journalism, I'm Mr. Jones and I'll be your teacher" He says. "This dude is waaaaay to happy to be up this early" Ashton whispers, I chuckle "Must be a new teacher". "Alright, so I know this is your first day back, but I have a project for ypu guys" says Mr. Jones the class groans in response, but I just listen closer. "Writing isn't just words on a page, it's expressive and a way to let the world here your voice, so your project is to write about something or someone your passionate about" Mr. Jones says. 'Ah, a perfect opportunity for you to write about me' Teddy jokes. 'You wish' I reply. What should I write about? It has to mean something, not just some silly writing about food. "What are you gonna write about, Ash" I ask Ashton. Turns and simply says "Music" and turns back to his rough draft. I grunt, turning away from him and stare at my empty piece of paper, waiting for words to show up. Of course they don't though. As I was about to ask Ashton for help, the rings signaling the end of the period. 'What the bloody he'll was that' Teddy exclaims 'I don't know, and don't say bloody hell, you're not British' Teddy rolls his eyes 'I could be' Now was my turn to roll my eyes as I turn into my free period. I sit down and put in my ear buds, I turned on the 1975 and closed my eyes. I was in my own head, just thinking, just existing. Nobody to punch me or embarrass me. Just me, Elliot 'Eli' Lupin. And that's how I like it
