The winter was as cold as ever with a broken spirit

Nights got cold and dark, and foggy and it was easy to get lost

The demons got louder and the world got quieter as the weight was shifted to my back

The winter brought dark snowy nights that even the evil feared

The black smog felt like it was getting thicker and thicker till all I could see was stars.

I followed the stars because though they were dim through the smog so was my hope,

With black smoke around me

Stars in my eyes

And a dim lit hope

I didn't know if If i was going to make it.

But somehow I can see the smog clearing

With my knees wobbling

I somehow know with every organ working

Every cell dividing

My body is working to keep me alive.

The smog breaks for a ray of light

And a smile cracks beyond my lips

Dark cold winters don't last forever

For the changing of seasons is at bay.
