Chapter 16: My First Love...

(Shu's POV)~
'No, it..can't..be..',I thought thinking back when they first met. 'Sure they were always together and great friends at that but I never thought it would come to this!' "Shu! Who was it?", Kanato said impatiently. 'When was it? Was it...that time...they came home really happy and holding hands while running towards me?', Shu thought.

*FLASHBACK*

I was in the garden of the mansion with the dog Edgar gave me before the butler and my mother took it away. Right when the butler and my mother got to where I was, Edgar and Brie came running up to us holding hands.

"Shu-"

"Mommy!", Brie interrupted mothers sharp tone.

"Yes my beautiful butterfly!", called mother so happy suddenly.

"My friend Edgar made me a promise!", little Brie grinned from ear to ear. She seemed so excited that you just couldn't think of anything else except grant her wishes to make her happy. She is like a little angel that you can't deny anything to this little girl. Just one little glimpse at her and you fall into her trap(if that's what you want to call it).

Although that's not how mother looks right now but it instantly disappears by just looking at Brie's grinning face.

"What was it darling?"

"Edgar promised we would be together forever! No matter what, he's going to be by my side till the day we die and he said we're going to die together!", Brie said happily, not knowing what they were really talking about.

"Oh, is that so?", a voice said behind us. We all turn around to see our father. Brie turned around really fast. Running towards him she lets go of Edgar and yells happily, "DADDY!!" He lifts her up to the air and catches her hugging.

"How is my princess doing?", he says happily.

"Great Daddy!", she says more happy than before.

"Oh? What's the occasion for being so happy?"

"Edgar promised to be by my side forever!"

"Did he?", father replied as he lifted an elegant eyebrow. Father stared at Edgar with a curious but protective gaze as mother stared at the scene as to Brie grinning, Edgar holding father's gaze and me holding the dog Edgar gave me. Finally it looks like mother fell out of Brie's little trap. She turned towards me with a stern look and glared at me saying, "Shu! What are you doing with that disgusting mutt!?"

"Moth-"

"It's mine mommy!", Brie interrupted me as all of us turned towards her. She was ginning the same grin but hugging a blushing Edgar's chest. She hugged him so possessively that I knew something was up.

"Edgar gave me him as his promise present to me! Can we pwease keep it?!", Brie said giving her best puppy eyes. Father looked so uneasy knowing he was falling into a trap. It was tempting. Very tempting but eventually he lost.

"Ok princess but take good care of him.", he said but then turned to me. He gave me a stern look and said, "As the oldest, please try to help your little sister, alright?" I nodded in agreement, mentally worshipping Brie for her help. Father nodded and then smiled.

He turned to Edgar as said in the most serious and scary voice, "If you break that promise and my daughter's heart, I will have you killed, understood?"

"Yes sir!", Edgar answered with the same seriousness and bowed.

*FLASHBACK OVER*

(Reiji's POV)~
I knew who it was. It was him, Edgar. I feel terrible for not telling her up until now but it was for her own good. I couldn't have him all over her like it was natural. So, I burned down his village with him in it. So far I haven't told anyone but when I burned them all to the ground I saw something I never want to see again. When Brie found out she was devastated. So much that she wanted to be with him.
