You applied a little bit of extra make up because hey, first impressions count. You headed out the door to the nearest sushi shop that you guys had agreed to meet at. You were a little uneasy, as you didn't know the individual's name, or what they looked like. All you knew, was what they were wearing. Luckily, you had both agreed to call the sushi shop, and they would direct you both to the same table. Less awkward guessing, and asking strangers who they were. You showed up early, as usual, which really only made the anticipation worse. You told the waiter your name, and he smiled before leading you to a pretty secluded table at the back.
"Is there anyway that we could have a different table?" You asked, as you were nervous, and wanted as many people around you as possible. What if something went bad?
"I-I'm sorry Miss, it's very crowded out towards the front of the restaurant, a-and the man you're meeting specifically asked to be around as little people as possible and-" The teenage waiter stuttered. (I mean, he was clearly taken aback by your beauty :^* ;) )
"No, no, it's fine. Thank you, this is fine." You reassured, but you were really suspicious about this man you were meeting. Why did he specifically ask for a table away from people? What was he planning? You had so many questions. You were really contemplating leaving before the man you were supposed to meet arrived, but before you had time to bail, you saw the teenage boy leading a man in a black suit around the corned. 'Aw crap! I'm not ready for this!' You thought to yourself, panicked, as you tried to check your reflection on every shiny object in a 3 foot radius. You noticed that he was tall and well built from the corner of your eye. You looked down, suddenly embarrassed for some reason. He sat down across from you, and you gathered up all of your courage and looked up. He let out a large grin. He had beautiful teeth and dimples to die for. You smiled back, because it was polite thing to do. He let out a chuckle, because he could clearly tell that you were a little shaken.
"I'm Kim Namjoon, the Korean Language tutor. You must be y/n?" He said in fluent English and extended his hand to you.
"U-uh yes, I'm y/n!" You stuttered and you shook his hand.
"I'm really glad that we could meet. I was really looking forward to this." Namjoon smiled warmly. Your heart was fluttering. You did not know what the heck was happening. Kim Namjoon? THE Kim Namjoon? From BTS? This had to be a joke. You were sitting in the presence of Rap Monster, from BTS. Your mind was filled with white noise, and you were finding it hard to mumble out a few words, let alone hold a conversation with him!
"I-I was too! Of course I was a little nervous though." You blushed and looked down at your lap.
"Well it's normal to be nervous." He chuckled. "I wanted to sit away from as many people as possible, because as you may or may not know, I'm part of a band that has become pretty popular lately. I didn't want the evening to be disturbed by a lot of fans." Namjoon explained.
You nodded, you understood, but you were still shocked.
"Order whatever looks good to you." He smiled as he handed you a menu and looked at one himself. You both ended up placing your orders and sat there awkwardly (keeping it real people lol) as you waited for it to come out. Once it came out, you both dug in. After you both had finished and the dishes taken away, it was time to discuss the tutoring (which you had completely forgotten about).
"So, you need a tutor to learn Korean." Namjoon began.
"Uhm, yes, I've always had a really hard time learning it on my own. I think having somebody to help me, and to hold me accountable, would really help me out." You tried explaining.
"Well I believe that I may be able to help you with that." He grinned. (Ahhhh the dimples!)
"That would be great!" You responded (maybe a little too enthusiastically).
"I've had a lot of free time on my hands recently, hence why I'm offering to help, so I am pretty flexible about scheduling, but evening does work best for me." Namjoon stirred his water.
"I work during the day, so evenings work better for me too. I get out of work at 4pm. So...How does 5pm tomorrow night sound? I would love to get started as soon as possible. It's hard to live in a country, and not speak the language!" You suggested.
Namjoon laughed, "Sounds great. Then we can just take it from there, and plan other times to meet up."
"Yes." You agreed, and you both stood up.
"Do you have a ride home?" He asked, looking out the window. It was dark out.
"Uhm, Yes I do. They should be here any minute." You lied. You weren't sure if you wanted him to know where you lived quite yet. I mean, he was still a stranger after all. "I don't want to keep you any longer than I have to. Thank you so much for dinner, it was delicious." You blushed, and looked at your shoes.
"You're very welcome, I'm glad that you enjoyed it. Are you sure you don't want me to walk you home?" He persisted. He could see through you, which made you even more uneasy,
"I-I'm fine." You insisted, but you were torn, because you kinda wanted him to walk you home. You hated walking alone in the dark.
"I'll just wait with you until your ride comes, so I know you'll be safe." Dang, he was a stubborn one.
You knew that you weren't going to win this one. You internally sighed and pretended to receive a text.
"Oh look at that! They have a flat tire and are unable to pick me up! Bummer!" You tried your best to act convincing.
"Oh no, that's no good. It's not fitting for a lady to walk alone in the dark. I will walk you home." He insisted. You finally gave in and agreed, as you saw no other way out.
The walk home was quiet, and he didn't walk you into the building, even though you were secretly hoping that he would.
"Goodnight y/n, see you tomorrow." He whispered, as to not disturb your neighbors.
"Goodnight Namjoon." You smiled softly. You walked into the building calmly, but as soon as you got into the building, you ran up all of the stairs in record time, your heart pounding in your ears. You slammed the door behind you and rested your back against it, like all the cliche's in the movies. After catching your breath, you went to bed. You still had no idea what on earth just happened to you.
