Rumple manage to get in a few good dances with Belle. He did his best to not be distracted. Sometimes it was easy. Belle was his true love after all, but every once in a wile he would catch a glimpse of Marion.

When they where done dancing Belle headed over to talk with Snow and some of the other women. Rumple on the other hand headed straight to Marion.

He walked past her giving her look that obviously meant she was to follow him. Something was different though. The deep chocolate brown eyes Rumple once showed beautiful where... green and brown.

He led her to a hall way out of the way of the ball. "Why are you here?" Rumple demanded, jaw clenched.

Marion was terrified of him, his tone, his expression, his eyes. She managed to squeeze out a few words, "Your eyes."

"This is just how they looked when I lived in the Enchanted forest as the Dark One. Now what are you doing here?"

"I don't know. I just missed you. I needed to do something to get my mind off you. I didn't realize that you two would be such a big deal, or that you would even be here."

"Well dearie, you where wrong."

"I'll just leave so you and Belle can have a good time." With that she turned around and walked out.

The great Dark One slumped down sitting against the wall as he began to cry. He had enchanted himself to be the be that same as he was in the Enchanted Forest. At least physically.

Black treats streamed down as he slammed the back of his head against the wall. He scratched at the scar on his wrist.

Memories flooded into his mind. Some of Belle, and some of Marion. How could he have drug another person into this mess he called his life. Not one life, but two.

As he sat on the floor, black tears streaming down his face, frantically scratching at his wrist when David turned the corner.

"Gold?" His voice startled Rumple. "Are you okay?"

With a thought Rumple was on his feet.

David jumped at the sudden use of magic.

"Yes of course I'm fine." Rumple waved his hand dismissing the prince. "Shouldn't you be back at the ball with your wife anyway dearie?"

"I was about to ask you the same thing." David tried to make eye contact with Rumple. When Rumple did turn to meet his gaze he wasn't expecting it.

Rumple turned on his heals to lock eyes with David. His eyes remained David of the Dark One he had faced in the Enchanted Forest. He stood up straight. Even though he was short he appeared taller and stronger then David.

"Why don't you scoot on back to your little wifey, before I turn you into the rat you are dearie!" Rumplestiltskin commanded with a little giggle. For a moment all the anger inside of him turned him back to the man he was before. Maybe not for a moment.
