Sitting down to my first class,I took a deep breath and sighed. i just did not konw how i would be able to survive here.You see in my old shcool,before my family movied I went to a ll girls school. To even think about going to a school with mixed classes was unthinkable in my mind and my friends. now here i w am sitting right next to a boy,what am i going to do?
suddenly I relized the boy next to me was trying to get my attention.
"Hello! Come back down to earth"he said
I started to tear up,my good griend used to say that all the time,I miss her. Seeing this,I guess he thoguht he should fix what he started. He reached out and touched my shoulder.I jumped.
Kockeing down my cahir and starging at him,I just didnt konw what to say....
"Ms.Gold,would you be so kind as to sid down s o we may begin?" Not the best way to get on the good side of MR Basil ,my new history teacher.
Sitting down picking up my chair from the floor taking out my notebook for class. While writing notes I noticed the boy next to me again trying to get my attention.
"what" I whispered.
"You ok? what was with the crying and jjumping?"
"Oh sorry,well the crying was you siad something that reminding me fo a really god friend of mine who i wont be seing ever again. The jump was ,i was just so srpised you touched me"
"oh well I'm sorry about your friend,but hey I'm sure you will make new ones here.Oh I'm Joey by teh way,Joe Silver" he saidwhile his hand out to shake .
"Im Ashira,,nice to meeet you Joe,but I..um..didntjump cause you scared me,I jumped cause youra guy .you see im a relgious Jew and...."
"No way,your Jewish?! Me to!" he said while interupting me.
"yes well,um,Im sorry I cant shake your hand or anythign like that.Im orthodx and its not allowed cause I already had my Bat mitzvah."
Joe looked hurt.So i tried fixing it.
"its not against you its just that i cant,i dont touch any boys im sorry."
This is going to be a long year.
