Toby: So, Caleb. You're the "new kid" right?
Caleb: yeah... and once you were too, so don't treat me differently ok?
Toby: you've got some nerve havent you?
Caleb: ok quit it, just tell me, if I didn't show up, what exactly would you do to her? Hit her, abuse her?
Hanna: I'm Hanna & honestly I'm fine, it's ok Caleb.
Caleb: No, it's not ok! Look, I know I don't know you well but I won't let this happen.
( a teacher approaches)
Teacher: is everything ok here?
Hanna: (smiles) this is the new student, Caleb Rivers. Would you like me to show him around?
Teacher: well that would be very sweet of you Hanna! And Toby, get to class please, you're already late!
Toby: sure Mrs May
(Toby leaves)
Mrs May: well, I'm going to be late if I don't go now! Once you've shown Caleb around, take him to reception and I'll give him his timetable to his lessons!
Hanna: sure Mrs Mays!
(Mrs May leaves)
Caleb: are you ok?
Hanna: yes, honestly don't worry! (Changes subject) so, do you want to see the science block or the english block first?
Caleb: ok, I don't mean to sound nosy or rude but I won't act like nothing happened. When I was younger, my past, I got abused by my father and no one, no one i know I would ever let go through that. So please, just tell me what happened ?
Hannas pov:
I might as well tell him everything. I know literally met him 10 minutes ago but I don't know, he seems really sweet and I think he genuinely cares. I mean, since me, aria, em, Spence and Ali had a fight, I've had no one. Seeing them together, all hating me, I felt alone and like I had no one. I really want to have a friend. I think that could be Caleb.
Hanna: well, if you want me to tell you everything, that would take a long time.
Caleb: I like stories
Hanna: well, wanna sit down? Get ready bc my life is messed up in all sort of ways
Caleb: go on....
Hanna: so, when I was 5, my dad left me and my mum. It's been just us 2 up until now. Being a single mum is hard, she works really early in the morning till late at night. I barely see her. Well, I had 4 friends. 4 I loved more than anything. But we had a fight. I miss them. More than anything but I can see they had moved on. So I guess I had to too. But for me, it didn't go to well. I started drinking, a lot and that's how I met Toby. I wasn't  sober enough most days to realise how bad of a boyfriend he was. But that you see, is the worst mistake I made. Him being my boyfriend, letting him into my life. And, you don't understand how many times I've tried to loose him, distance myself from him. Every time I do he, ( pulls up sleeve) he hurts me, and you see, that's how I got these. (Bruises and scars)
Caleb: omg Hanna, I'm so sorry. ( hugs her). This isn't right and you know it.
Hanna: I keep telling myself every day, I'm strong and that I can deal with this but I can't. One day, it'll get too much and I won't be able to deal.
Caleb: right, that's it, when does break start?
Hanna: in an hour, why?
Caleb: I'm going to talk to Toby!
Hanna: Caleb, don't...
Caleb: look, I know you don't think this is a good idea, but when I got abused, I had to tell someone and I know how it feels. I won't let this happen, I know I just met you but I'm sorry Hanna, I won't let this happen!
Hanna: PLEASE CALEB, IM BEGGING YOU NOT TOO.  Look, I know your only trying to help but you have to understand, if you talk to him, he'll just hurt me even more. I can't deal with that.
Caleb: well we have to do something.
Hanna: we can't, there's nothing. The only thing you can do and what I would like you to is be my friend. I want a friend, someone who's there for me.
Caleb: I'll try and be the best one. But first, I'm helping you get your old friends back. I can tell you miss them. And as much as a friend I'm going to be for you, you need them, I can tell.
