"Are you waiting for him, noona?"
I looked at Woobin and laughed. "Why? Am I being to obvious?" Then, I smirked. "I doubt he's still gonna go. It's almost 10."
Woobin shrugs. "Or maybe he already left?" He smiled smugly as if he was teasing me. I just rolled my eyes at him. "I'm kidding, noona!"
I smacked his left arm. "You're so annoying."
"He was really here earlier. Have you checked around? Maybe he's still inside."
"You just want me to leave you alone, don't you?" I raised my hands in defeat and stood up. "Fine, I'll leave."
"Noona-"
"Nah, I'm just playing with you. I'm just gonna get some more drinks." I messed up his hair and walked away from him, going straight to the kitchen entrance from the poolside. I sighed heavily as soon as I got inside the house, getting away from the loud music was particularly one of the best decisions I made tonight and probably also the worst. I wasn't able to realize quickly that going inside would just put me in an awkward situation since I was now all alone... again.
Why am I even here? What am I doing here? I just look like a fool who's waiting for someone I already chose to let go three months ago.
"This is so messed up." I am so messed up.
Suddenly, my phone vibrated in my hand, and I saw Woobin's message.
Woobbang-ie: Noona, Insung hyung is by the outdoor poolside bar.
My brow raised at his message which I left read. Why didn't I think of that? Insung would just stay in a corner whenever his friends are either drinking and dancing to loud music.
I just went outside again and made my way to the outdoor poolside bar Woobin mentioned. I immediately saw Insung smiling while he was talking to someone. She had short hair and was about the same height as me.
"Jihyo noona?"
I briefly met Insung's eyes the moment someone else called my name but his gaze subtly changed as he saw the person standing beside me. "Jihoon-ah." I said endearingly. God, this is so awkward. "I didn't expect to see you here." I forced a smile and quickly stole a glance at Insung again, he was just looking in our direction.
Jihoon puts his hand on the back of his neck. "Me too." Then, he chuckled nervously. "How are you?"
"Well, I'm just focusing on work to distract myself," I said. "Oh, yeah. I talked to Heechul a week ago." I teased him, remembering that he mentioned me to one of his guesting on Heechul's vlog before.
"Ah... About that— I was starting to get tipsy that time." He explained. I can't help not to smile, yet I purposely hid it from him and faced Insung's direction again, but he wasn't looking. "Did I make you laugh?" Jihoon teasingly pointed out, making Insung immediately look in our direction again. Our stares locked in for a second and I saw how his gaze changed once again. His brows were also furrowed and was already obviously distracted.
I smirked seductively before throwing another banter at Jihoon. "You didn't!" I playfully hit his arm and forced a wholehearted laugh.
"Just admit it!"
I rolled my eyes and crossed my arms over my chest. "Fine!"
"Oh, isn't that Jihyo unnie? Jihoon oppa also came! Let's go to them!"
So, it was Hyojoo who was with him all along. She was holding Insung's hand while he was just letting himself get dragged to where Jihoon and I were.
"Hyojoo invited me over." Jihoon told me and smiled. Well, that sums up the questions I had earlier on why he's here. I did think of Kwangsoo since he was his former co-star but I doubt he would invite him because he knows what happened between me and Jihoon back then.
