"I don't understand," Her husband, Kim Jongkook, stood by the window, his silhouette outlined against the city lights. He was perfectly dressed—as always—in a tailored suit while his hands were in his pockets.

Jihyo closed her eyes, taking a deep breath to steady herself. The words she had anticipated for so long still cut deep when they finally came. She opened her eyes and looked at him. "I know you don't," she replied softly.

"You want a divorce?" Jongkook turned to face her and repeated the words she just said earlier, his eyes searching her face for answers. "Tell me what happened, Jihyo. What did I do wrong?"

She felt a lump form in her throat. "I can't do this anymore..." Her voice was barely audible, but the pain in her words was too obvious not to notice. She took a step closer to him, her eyes brimming with tears. "I tried. I tried so hard to ignore what everyone says about you and that woman—"

Jongkook ran his fingers through his hair, frustration evident in his every movement. "But, I love you, Jihyo. Please... I don't want to lose you."

"We can't keep pretending that everything is fine when we both know it isn't." The tears she had been holding back finally spilled over, streaming down her cheeks. "How long can we stay like this when we couldn't even say that we're still happy?"

Her mind wandered to the happier times they had shared in this very room. The laughter, the stolen glances, the whispered promises. It all seemed like a distant memory now, overshadowed by the differences that had grown between them.

Jongkook reached out, as if to touch her, but stopped himself. His hand fell back to his side, and he looked away, unable to meet her gaze. "So, this is it? This is how it ends?"

Jihyo wiped her tears with the back of her hand. "I guess," she replied. "I will find a different house as soon as I can. You don't need to think about me anymore."

The silence that followed was thick with unspoken words and regrets. Finally, Jongkook nodded. Without another word, he turned and walked out of the room, leaving Jihyo alone with her thoughts.

Jihyo had been married to Jongkook for almost fifteen years. Of course, she had known the risks when she married the only son of a chaebol family, it was almost related to being a royal. The demands of Jongkook's status had weighed heavily on their relationship, but she committed to being a supportive wife, even as her own dreams of being an actress faded into the background.

Their relationship, once full of promise, had slowly deteriorated over the years, especially as they remained childless. Jihyo often felt like an outsider in her own life, a sentiment that grew with each passing year.

The hours dragged on after Jongkook left. Jihyo sat on the edge of her bed, staring blankly at the city lights outside her window as she finished her wine. The emptiness inside her was overwhelming, and she felt a desperate need to escape, if only for a night. Her mind drifted to her bodyguard.

With trembling hands, she picked up her phone and typed a message. "Come to my room."

She stared at the message for a long moment before hitting send. What am I even doing? She wasn't entirely sure. All she knew was that she needed something... or someone... to help her forget, even if only for a few hours.

Her bodyguard arrived promptly, his expression calm and composed as he stepped into the room. He was tall and broad-shouldered, exuding a quiet aura, yet sometimes Jihyo wondered if he was a paradox under his cold eyes. "You called, ma'am?"
