Riverclan stench filled the air. but it wasn't just Riverclan. There was faces she didn't recognize at all. there was enough cats to form two clans. she spotted a orange tom holding Cloudtail down. she raced toward it knocking it off his feet. Cloudtail stood up as the tom ran away. a white she cat hurdled toward them. they clawed the she cat in unison. her once white pelt was matted with blood from earlier injuries. She hissed and spat as she raced into the crowed. "I'm going to help Echoshine!" she said to Cloudtail and ran. Echoshine was being pushed back by two apprentices looking big enough to become warriors. she tackled one scraping its flank as a black tom yowled, "Earthclan, retreat!" The cats retreated, swimming across the lake. A yowl hit the air hard. she turned to see Cloudtail. blood was streaming from his throat and stomach. "Cloudtail!" she ran to his side staring at her mentor. "Brightleaf. have faith in your self. think about Starclan's prophecy. One, with a soul so bright, will defeat all darkness." "How do you know about the prophesy?" "That is not important." He stopped breathing. this was all her fault. if she'd stayed with him, she would have protected him. "Cloudtail, no!" Brightheart cried walking up to him next to Brightleaf. the clan gathered around her. "Brightleaf..." someone said. "I'm so sorry Brightheart." people started murmuring. Bramblestar touched his nose to Cloudtail's pelt and said. "let's bring him to camp."

Bramblestar called a meeting for warriors only. "there was not just Riverclan cats on that attack patrol. I will look for omens, Bramblestar, but that's all I can do." Jayfeather said. They were huddled below Highledge. "well, any one, keep an eye out for something suspicious." He said leaving. the warriors left, all except Brightleaf. "Bramblestar can I talk to you?" she asked. "of course." he replied and led her to his den. "I got a prophesy from Starclan--" "hold on, Jayfeather should hear this." he came back a minute later with Jayfeather. "I got a prophesy from Starclan. it said, 'One, with a soul so bright, will defeat all darkness. they will travel far to achieve. They will make the darkness shy away from the warm light. they will save the clans from the darkest threat. they will not win every battle, but win every battle that truly matters." " How is this possible?" Jayfeather gasped staring out of the den. "what?" she asked. "the leaves.... it's an omen!" he replied. "Brightleaf, you need to leave." "okay." she mewed. "no, you need to leave the clan.". "What?!"

"Jayfeather..." Bramblestar said.

"Let me tell you why. that prophesy. it says 'one, with a soul so bright.' Brightleaf." "What if its Brightheart? it's not me!" Brightleaf tried desperately to show Jayfeather it's not her. "I know it's you because the sky got bright as leaves fell from trees. And I know you have to leave because there was tons of leaves, all dark green, but one was bright green floating away in the wind but as soon as the wind lifted it high, the wind stopped." "Brightleaf, you truly have to leave!" Bramblestar said.
