The party

Going to party's with my friends was always a highlight for me. It wasn't necessarily because of the excessive drinking, or the exhilarating pong games, I just liked having something to be excited for. It was basically a tradition that before any party, me and my friends would meet up at my house to get ready. My bed would quickly turn into a tornado of clothes; all of us trying on each others trying to find that night's perfect outfit. My bathroom would turn into a hurricane of makeup and used wipes covering my counters, but despite the mess, just all of us being together solely focusing on our looks made for a good distraction.

"Shawty the hair straightener next!" Sam yelled as I sighed realizing that she took too long to straighten her hair which meant I wouldn't even get to use my hair straightener. It really wasn't an issue you wanted to fight her on, it proved to be a sensitive topic.

"Alright then I wanted to curl mine anyways," Aria rolled her eyes looking at me knowing we both had the same thought. I went back into my room, now determined to sift through the jumbled up clothes covering my bed to decide on an outfit. After trying on too many, I decide on black high wasted jeans and a forest green cropped shirt, what I was hoping was an understated look. As we continued to get ready, the time rolled around to 9:30.

"Guys we should get going, the party going to be over by the time we get there!" Katie said frantically trying to get all her stuff together.

"But I'm not ready yet," Sam yelled back

"Well Sam, you're going to have to be ready in ten minutes because that's when my brothers coming." Aria exclaimed in an annoyed tone. Arias brother was 20, so he became our designated boot, and taxi driver. Surprisingly, he never complained or said no if we asked him to drive, he just did. I think there was a piece of him that liked driving us to parties, occasionally coming in. It let him sort of relive his glory days.

"Shot gun!" I yelled running up to the Toyota four runner, having to extend my reach just to grab the handle. I stepped into the truck plunking myself on the old ripped seat beside Josh. He looked quite a bit like aria, same dark hair and brown eyes. He smiled at me as I got in.

"You know, you'd think I should get shot gun, since it's my brother?" Aria claimed in a matter of fact tone.

"Aria we've already been over this, I like your friends way better then you."

"Haha so funny." She sarcastically replied. "Now where's our liquor?" she said as she rooted around the back seat.

"Ok, ok, calm down its right here." He pulled a liquor store bag out of the center consul and passed it to me. I could already guess the inside contents, but wondering what weird flavors he chose for us this time. He always got us what we asked for, but with a weird twist.

"Thank you," I said smiling at him.

"No problem. So where are we going tonight?"

"The corner of foster and Smith," Aria chanted from the back.

"Alright, then let's be off."

As we pulled up to the house, all our jaws hit the floor. "Holy shit." Sam said furrowing her brows. The house was just shy of a mansion, probably 7000 square feet. We all filed out of the car adjusting our hair and clothes as we closed the car doors.

"Thanks again," I waved to Josh as he rolled down the window.

"See ya soon." He said smiling as he began to put the car back into drive. We all started up a concrete path through the lawn towards the giant doors at the front of the house.

"I'm not knocking!" Sam yelled right away.

"Me either." I claimed right after. I always felt too awkward doing so. Katie rolled her eyes and knocked on the door. After a few seconds, someone came to the door.

"Well, would you look who it is, my favorite girl group." Steve's friend Will said ushering us in the door. "Wow 10:30, this is especially early for you guys, I was expecting you all too maybe stop by at around 2 a.m.," He continued.

"Very funny," Aria scooted up beside him, "We decided to be especially on time for you guys."

"Well I feel honored." He said slipping his hand around Arias waste.

"So do you want to go in?" I quickly whispered to Sam and Katie. Aria seemed as though she would already be preoccupied for virtually the rest of the night.

The music was obviously loud, considering you could hear it from down the street, but when you really got inside, it was too loud. I cracked open my bottle of raspberry vodka wincing at the smell before taking a long swing then closing my eyes as I swallowed the awful taste. "Oh my god." Katie said, watching me, "I want to throw up just looking at you."

"I'm too sober, I need to get drunk."

"Apparently." Sam sarcastically said opening up a palm bay. She proceeded to casually crank her neck around to see if she could see Steve. I looked over towards where a bunch of the guys from our school were playing beer pong, when I made eye contact with Jay. He smiled at me and started walking over. I broke eye contact and tried to start talking to Sam as if it never happened.

"So what are you drinking right now?" I said refocusing.

"What do you mean...? I'm drinking the same thing as you." She said confused before I felt a hand touch my back.

"Hey." Jay said as I turned a little bit startled.

"Hey."

"I'm glad you decided to come." He claimed rubbing his hands together.

"Yeah I figured I would want to miss possibly the best party of the year." I joked.

"Yeah I think he might have gone a little bit over kill with the invites." We both looked around, me now noticing that since we had come another probably twenty people had come. I also noticed Sam and Katie had silently excused themselves and were now watching me and Jay from the chip bowl.

"This house is ginormous." I muttered trying to fill the silence amongst the noise.

"I know, Steve's parents are crazy loaded." He chuckled. "You want a tour?" he held out his hand expectantly, and without thinking, I smiled and grabbed it.

"Sure."
