What students should normally do on beautiful sunny hot day like today? Go to the beach with their bikinis on, tons of beers and food, enjoying life! What Olivia was doing on beautiful sunny hot day like today? Studying syntax, English grammars and verbs! Sure, she wasn’t stuck inside! She brought all her books, put a dark pink bikini on and lied down on a deckchair but she wasn’t at the beach, drinking beer and having fun!  Nope, she was studying, always studying! Sighing, she putted her dark chocolate hair in a messy bun on the top of her head and her earphones on her ears. Her university exams were in less than 2 days and she didn’t want to fail it! She hasn’t made all the travel from Québec to California to failing her first exams. She really wasn’t counting on it! As she was slowly slipping from the real world, letting her mind concentrate on the Walk Off the Earth music in her ears and on the thousand of word in her books, she felt a hand on her shoulder...

-         Olivia!! Arielle said, taking off one of her earphones.

-         Oui, ma belle Arielle?! Olivia smiled, lifting her head to her best friend.

-         Tomorrow night, 4pm, cute dress, my gallery. You’re coming!

Arielle was one of her best friend. She met her when she was 11, at her elementary school back in Québec, Canada. Her friend moved in California about 1 year ago with her long-date boyfriend Nicholas. Arielle loved photography so much, it was all her life. She started some contracts for some agency and magazines about 2 months after she arrives in California. She decided to open her own gallery and photos studio in L.A and tomorrow will be her big opening. Olivia loved all Arielle’s photos but she didn’t really loved parties and big opening night. She was the kind of girl that preferred movies night and small restaurant dinner rather than going in a club and eating a poutine at 3am. Plus she had tons of studying to do before her exams and a night at an opening gallery was not what she had planned.

-         Ari... I..I can’t go!! I have an exam Friday, I have to study! I saw your studio and your gallery tons of times, I know what it looks like, it’s beautiful but I really can’t go!! Olivia Answered

-         Olivia Anne Stones! You HAVE to be there!! That night is not happening if I don’t have my best friend beside me!!

Olivia groaned, she knew she couldn’t argue with Arielle. Even if Olivia had a pretty damn strong character, she couldn’t win with her gorgeous 5foot 8 tall blonde stubborn friend.

-         And don’t wait for me to speak in French because I can assure you there’s not going to have just pretty damn words! Arielle adds, bringing her fist on her hips.

-         Your neighbors will think you’re a crazy chick! Olivia laugh, closing her book on her laps.

-         Yeah well, they already know I am crazy... but they didn’t hear me cussing in French yet, so don’t make me do it! So... you’re coming right?! I promise it won’t last until 2am! Arielle winks at her

-         Yeah... I’ll go! But don’t invite crazy L.A people!! I think I have my quota with the university guys... Olivia warned her.

-         I promise you there won’t be crazy, weird L.A people! Arielle kissed her cheeks and walked away in the little loft kitchen.

Olivia got up on her feet and followed her friend. She put her heavy University books on the table near them and sits on one of the island stool. Arielle started talking to all the people that might be there. Some celebrity she already photographed, maybe some local journalist, friends, family...They talked about how they would dress and how Arielle was feeling the day before the grand opening of her very first gallery. After their little chat, Arielle got on her laptop, fixing last minutes details and Olivia decided to drown back on her studying. The day passed slowly and Olivia got to bed early that night.
