A/N - This is also my first book, so please have mercy on me. It may seem all happy and shallow at first, but just keep reading.
Also, don't forget to share it with your friends. It means a lot when you do. Thanks a ton!
On that note, enjoy!

I look around at my room filled with boxes. I stand there, smiling at the memories I had once made with my friends and family. Before I had any more time to replay my past memories, I was met with a screeching voice that made my hair jump six feet high, not to mention, snapping me out of my thoughts.
"We need to Skype every day, maybe even twice a day!" That's my best friend, Trisha. She is the greatest person I have ever met in my entire life. We met in preschool, well maybe before that, but she has always been there for me, and I could, without a doubt, say the same.
"You know we will, and I just know you'll be great even when I'm gone. I can't believe you're not going to be here with me. I'm going to miss you so much. And don't worry, no living thing will ever replace you." I reply. Call me strange, but that's how my friendship rolls with her. Today was our last full day together until I left for the New York Academy for the Arts. No, not the college, but for my final year of high school. NYAA is a high school for the arts that is extremely difficult to get into. I applied in my junior year as soon as I heard about it. I found out in the beginning of summer that I was accepted and literally bounced off the walls. This was a once in a lifetime opportunity that I was not willing to pass up, even if I was sad about leaving my friends and my hometown. Today was the last day before my flight, so Trisha and I went around town, to different parks, malls, and just anywhere we could generally think of.
First, we went to a water park near us for a few hours. Then, we tried out these very expensive, but cute clothes, which we never bought, earning us nasty glares from employees. Finally, we took a walk around our favorite park, ending with ice cream from the best parlor in the world, Hunter's Ice Cream. Now it was almost eleven at night, and we were having a sleepover at my house. Our plan was to pull an all-nighter, although I wasn't completely sold on Trish staying up with me.
"Oh, I already know that, but you will make new friends there. Dude, you are the Queen B. Well, your name isn't Beyonce, but you get my point. Ok, maybe Queen S! Your singing is equivalent, or even better than Beyonce's. " Trish replied. I ruffled her hair, smiling.
"See, this is why I love you so much. Hey, do you want to watch Netflix?"
"Yeah! What show?"
"I don't know. You choose."
And that's what we did for the rest of the night/morning. Finally, at ten a.m., we were both extremely sleep deprived, so we decided to rest up a bit before my flight. My flight wasn't until tomorrow morning, around four- thirty. We woke up around two o'clock in the afternoon and ate our lunch, pasta.
"Do you want to go swimming today before we leave? I'll give you my donut floaty," I asked her. First, Trish gave me a dubious look, but the expression was wiped off and replaced with an excited one.
"Sure, let me get my swimsuit! While I'm off looking for a swimsuit my size in your closet, blow some air into my soon-to-be donut! By the way, I call the waterfall area!"
Giving her a fake pout, I dragged myself to the backyard to blow up the donut. By the time I had finished, Trish was already down with a very expensive two piece I worked my butt off for.
"GO. CHANGE. NOW!!!!!!!!" I yelled at the top of my lungs.
"Seriously dude, get your shit together. I found this bikini rather attractive, so I'm wearing it. What's wrong with it?" She stated, mockingly.
