Akari stopped and stared as her teacher approached, waiting to see what would happen. Mrs. Omi wore a sky blue dress and wore blue tenni shoes, her hair was usually down, long, straight, with no curls, her face, normally smiling, was now straight and serious.
"You three, leave him alone or there will be trouble!" Mrs. Omi said. Akari snickered as she saw her teachers devilish smile forming on her face, which only happened when she was enjoying encountering people like the three fifth graders. "W-we weren't doing anything to him." One bully said, backing away. " Good," said Mrs. Omi, "now head home and be good kids." The three walked away quite fast, obviously in fear.
Akari looked to Midori and saw that he was crying. She walked to him and gave him a hug, which always comforted him. "Th-thanks." he said, hugging her back. "Anytime Midori." Mrs. Omi walked up slowly and kneeled down in front of them, "Are you ok?" She asked. "I-im fine." He replied. "I'll report those three, you too head home before anything else happens." Mrs. Omi said, putting back on her happy smile and patting Midori's head.
The two said goodbye and left out the doors and began the walk home. "Good thing Mrs. Omi was around huh?" Akari said. "Yeah." He replied simply, in a quiet voice. Akari realized he didn't want to talk, so she was silent the rest of the walk home.
Akari said goodbye to Midori as they came to her driveway, "Midori, are you sure you're ok...?" She asked before leaving. "Not really, but I'll get through it." He replied with a faint smile. Akari looked worringly as she walked away.
