Cassidy's POV:

Guests started coming at around eight o'clock, the noise level in my house rose to a maximum. Girls came running up to me, giving me small hugs, telling me how proud they were that I was actually going to college, and thanking me for the party. "Yeah, thanks." I said every time, trying my hardest to fake a smile. Looking in the sea of people, it seemed as if I couldn't find anyone I was actually looking for.

I turned around to look for Alexia as I bumped into someone. His deep, familiar voice was extremely recognizable. His eyes widened at the site of me and I couldn’t help but blush. “Wow, you look.. Amazing.” I smiled, “Thanks, Jake.” I couldn’t help myself from apologizing. “Hey, about earlier.. I’m sorry about my behavior. I was just so shocked that you came back and to see you again..” He shrugged, “Don’t worry about it. I’m here now, right?” I sheepishly smiled and we headed over to the entertainment room.

Alexia was there with a few other friends from high school. They all greeted me and told me how proud they were and how nice the party was. We all talked a little bit until I was interrupted by a phone call. I jumped up from my seat and ran outside to where it was semi-quiet. I looked at my phone, hoping it was Harry. I sighed and picked it up, disappointed again. “Hi Mom.” I plugged my other ear so I couldn’t hear her better. “Hi sweetie! How’s the party?” I looked around. Everyone seemed to be having an amazing night, regardless of the fact that it was “my” night. Maybe everyone was overjoyed that I was leaving. “It’s great,” I replied. “Okay, I’ll talk to you soon then sweetie!” I hung up the phone and started walking back to the entertainment room. When Alexia saw me, she rose an eyebrow, wondering if it was who I wanted it to be. I gave her a quick no and she looked extremely disappointed. “Who was that?” I heard Jake ask. “My mom,” I replied. “She just wanted to know how everything was going.” He reached for my phone and I yanked my arm away. “You seemed way too excited to answer that, who was it?” He tried reaching for it again, this time, pushing me  up against the couch. “It was my mom, Jake.” He lunged for it again, making me fall back onto the couch. He straddled me, giving me a devilish smirk as he reached for my phone again. “Stop!” I couldn’t help but laugh as he lightly tickled me. "Ow!" I whined. "Get the fuck off of me Jake!" He held me down and laughed, pushing my arms further together. I tried to get free, but his arms continued to hold me down. I finally got the strength and pushed away from his grip. I then got on top of him, leaving my legs on either side of his waist. "Okay, fighting's over." I looked over at Alexia and my friends who were standing uncomfortably against the counter. I looked back at Jake and pinched his right cheek, making him groan. He hated when people pinched his cheeks, especially his grandmother used to do it all the time when we were growing up. "We don't want this ending up like the Christmas party,” my friend Jen muttered, walking over to sit on the couch. I got off of Jake and looked over at Jen who kept her head down.

I looked in my mirror one more time. Loose dark brown curls cascaded down my  strapless silver dress. I was just putting my black five-inch heels on as everyone walked in. I turned to see Jen, Collin, Alexia and Sam walking through my bedroom door holding a gold Hollister bag. "What's that for?" I gestured to the bag. Alexia sat the bag on my bed and took out the items one by one. Six shot glasses, one half-drunk bottle of Vodka. "To get us started." I shrugged and Alexia poured the clear liquid into the frosted-glasses. "Cheers." After about three shots, we all loaded out of my bedroom and started heading down the spiral staircase. Guests were coming swiftly through the mahogany wood door, laughing and talking amongst each other. "Oh, there you are sweetie. Come with me, I need help in the kitchen." My mom took my arm into her hand and pulled me along with her. She looked worried and stressed, as she usually does before our holiday parties. I released myself from her nervous grip and straightened out my dress. "Mom," I laughed. "Calm down, everything will be fine," I assured her. "This always happens. Something always goes wrong,” she whined. My dad came up, grabbing my mom by her shoulders and setting a small kiss on her forehead temples. "Hi Honey." He looked so elegant in his black silk suit with his gold tie. He never wore a suit unless it was a special occasion, which apparently this party, was. "Hi Daddy," I smiled as he brought me into small hug. My mom took a deep breath as she sat down on the counter stools. One by one, employees sped past us in their white suits with black jackets. They were all carrying something to set down on the buffet line, or small horiderves to give the guests. "Boo!" I looked down at Alihannah who held her small hands up, pretending to scare me. "Oh my gosh! You scared me so much." I picked her up and her small leg sat on my chest. Her head rested against my shoulder, her small tendril curls bounced along her scalp. She looked up at me with her big sparkly hazel eyes. "I like your dress." I smiled and started walking towards the living room. " She shot up from my shoulder and had a bright smile on her face. "Thank you! It was yours wasn't it?" I nodded, "Mhm, when I was younger." We got out to the living room and I was greeted by Jake, Jen and Alexia. "Hi baby," Jake said as he picked Alihannah up from my arms. "I'm not a baby. I'm three years old!" She held out her hand into a small number three. I was taken away again by my family, who came in from New York to visit us.
