The sound of footsteps echoed in the empty corridor. The air was crisp, cold and seemed to seep through skin and touch bones with an icy finger. To any normal person this place would make them shiver with unexpected fear. What they would find at the end of this long corridor would probably frighten them further.
Not this particular person though. No, they were not afraid. They brushed the coldness of the corridor off their shoulder like it was just a piece of lint on their jacket.
The footsteps came to a stop in front of a locked door at the end of the corridor. A pair of narrowed Grey-blue eyes stared at the door, a knowing frown on their face. They didn't really want to enter this room but it was what the man had requested. If he was even a man at all.
With one hand they unlocked the door, pushing it open. They stepped inside, their eyes staring down at the man who sat in a chair, his back towards him. The door closed. The man in the chair lifted his head slightly.
"So, Mr Moriarty," Mycroft Holmes said. "Here I am. What is it that you wish to discuss?"
Jim Moriarty stared at the glass in front of him, able to see Mycroft standing behind him. With a dark, sinister look in his eyes he smiled.
