Teddy's P.O.V

I was halfway through my pint when Sherlock stormed into the pub with John right behind him. As Sherlock and Lestrade spoke I looked at John through lowered eyelashes. He stood near the door and he was looking everywhere except where I was standing. He didn't speak, not until he told Sherlock that Lestrade's name really was Greg.

"Is it?" Sherlock said with a frown.

"Yes," Lestrade replied bitterly. "If you'd ever bothered to find out. Look, I'm not your handler and I don't just do what your brother tells me."

"Actually, you could be just the man we want," John said.

"Why?"

"Well, I've not been idle, Sherlock. I think I might have found something." John pulled a slip of paper out of his pocket. It looked like an invoice of some kind.

"Here. Didn't know if it was relevant; starting to look like it might be. That is an awful lot of meat for a vegetarian restaurant."

"Excellent," Sherlock replied.

"Nice scary inspector from Scotland Yard who can put in a few calls might come in very handy," John said.

"Yeah, I guess," Lestrade answered. "Teddy, you'll help me out?"

"Of course. It's about time I start working on this case," I said with a shrug. From the corner of my eyes I saw John look at me, a small, anxious smile on his face. I really wanted to talk to him but I knew now was not the time. I had to focus. Concentrate.

"Well, lets get started."

"Here's another."

I held up an invoice, looking at the manager- Garry- and his chef Billy before turning to Lestrade.

"About a month old. There's even more meat than before."

"Not the oldest one, though. Here's another one," Lestrade told me. Garry and Billy looked at each other anxiously. As Lestrade and I sorted through the invoices Sherlock and John spoke. It looked like Sherlock was making it up to John for his behavior last night by making him coffee but from the look on John's face though he hadn't done the best of jobs. I smiled softly.

"Nice to see you smiling," Lestrade murmured.

"I've been smiling all morning, kinda," I replied, shifting through the invoices.

"Nice to see you smiling at him," Lestrade corrected.

"Hmm..."

"Did I manage to get through to you, then?" Lestrade said with a satisfied grin.

"Shut up, we're on a case," I smiled. With a small chuckle Lestrade let the subject go.

"So, these records seem to go back nearly two months," I said after a minute.

"Is that when you had the idea?" Lestrade asked the two men. "After the TV show went out?"

"It's me," Billy blurted. "It was me. I'm sorry, Garry- I couldn't help it. I had a bacon sandwich at Cal's wedding and one thing just led to another..."

"Please," I snorted, rolling my eyes at the obvious lie he was trying to feed us.

"Nice try," Lestrade said.

"Look, we were just trying to give things a bit of a boost, you know? A great big dog run wild up on the moor- it was heaven-sent. It was like us having our own Loch Ness Monster," Garry told us.
