I really wanted this damn drive to be over already. I've been driving for three hours in my piece of shit car full of all of my belongings.

I groaned when my phone started ringing, I saw I had at least twenty minutes left of my drive when I answered the call from m best friend, Camryn.

"Hello?" I say putting it on speaker.

"When the hell are you getting here? I've been waiting here forever! I got so bored at one point I actually cleaned the place." She hated cleaning, and since I was on my way from my old town, it took forever so she must've gotten tired of just sitting around.

"My car is puttering along as fast as it can go. If I go over sixty-five I'm afraid the bumper will fall off." She laughed. I didn't. I couldn't afford a new car right now, and I needed this one to last me a little longer.

"Well try it, the bumper won't fall off, I'm bored and I miss you!" We haven't seen each other in two months. But now I'm moving in with her, I couldn't pay the rent easily, so she said I could come live with her for as long as I want.

My car made a clunk sound and then I heard a putt putt from the engine as I coasted to the side of the road.

"Mother fucker." I muttered.

"What's wrong?" Cam asked.

"My car! I just broke down and I'm like twenty minutes from your place."

"I told you to retire that fucking thing already! What road are you on?"

"Umm" I looked to the marker on the side of the road. "Route two."

"Oh! There should be a garage not far from there, they're really good there. Shouldn't be too far of a walk. The place is called Martínez Auto Body. Usually the garage door is open during the day, just walk there and I'll pick you up." Then she hung up.

I groaned, I wasn't in a presentable outfit. I had on my snug fitting sweatpants, a plain white shirt that dipped sort of low-but not a trashy low-and my sneakers.

My hair was left down while I had minimal makeup on, just some mascara and foundation.

"Goddamnit all to hell!" I muttered and unbuckled. I climbed out of my piece of shit car and slammed the door shut. This is so humiliating!

I started walking and I hated how my hips sway naturally, it makes it look like I'm trying to seduce someone with how saucy I walk.

I wish I could trade in my short hourglass figure, for a tall slim one. My butt and boobs drag in too much unwanted attention.

I spotted the shop, Cam was right. The garage door was open, but so was the front door.

I walked into the front door to avoid disturbing the men working in the shop, and I saw a young man in there. His gaze flickered up from writing something on the notebook filled with messy male scribbles. I've never met a man who had nice handwriting.
