When I was younger my dad always told me never to fly below the tree tops and always listen to the leader of our flock but I never did listen to my father's advice then and now look what happened, I'm stuck hanging upside down by my foot under the tree canape and I'm pretty sure that I broke one of my wing's. How did I end up in this situation you might be wondering well at first it started with a few of my friends and me flying around and feeling the wind in our hair and our wings as we flew high in the atmosphere then next thing I knew my friends were joking about flying close to the tree tops, and when one of my friends started to get closer to the tree tops things got crazy and we started to fly closer to the tree line. Then one of my friends made a noisy dive yelling as braking past the trees and like an idiot, the rest of us followed suit, once we made it past the treetops we flew around the trees looking at the strange things on the ground, the first thing that we noticed was that the trees were gigantic and had branches that looked like they would hold a family of four in one the second thing that we saw was that there were a lot of leaves below. It really was all fun and games as we flew around the trees until one of us wanted to land on the ground to get a closer look at what might be our new place to get away from our overbearing flock leader, but just before any of us where able to land and do anything there was the sound of a twig snapping and the next thing I know everyone was just hovering for what felt like a lifetime before the sound of another twig snapping followed by the sound of leaves being stepped on, which is when we all tried to get back to the top of the trees as fast as we could not caring who we pushed or pulled out of the way to get to safety than "BAM" one of my friends and I crash into each other getting tangled in each other limbs pushing our wings to carry us up before we start falling to the ground.
Just before the both of us were about to hit the ground we had managed to get ourselves untangled and started to flap our wings until it felt like a foot or something pushed down on one of my wings knocking me off balance and sending me plummeting back down to the ground. When they say that breaking or spraining your wings that it hurts like hell but not as bad as hitting the ground for the first time well landing on one of your wings, that was the worst pain I have ever felt in my life, and as I laid there (wind knocked out of me) on the hard ground looking up at the trees to see the last of my friends brake past the treetops to safety hoping that any of them noticed that I wasn't with and praying that they might come back for me.
After what felt like an eternity and the pain in my back and right wing had dulled I decided to move and get up off the ground carefully trying not to move my damaged wing as much only to pull it closer to the back of my body, once I was steady on my feet I looked around making sure that there was nothing around that can sneak up on me, due to the damaged done to my wing and how sore my body was, I was forced to lean against trees for support when I would walk. I didn't notice how thick the trees were when using my hand to reach out for the next tree nor did I notice how big the leaves were or the surprise that waited for me under them, when I had stepped on the surprise I had not expected to be pulled up by my left foot and hang upside down high enough off the ground to have my good wings primaries touch the ground. Now you know what happened that led to this situation that left me hanging by my feet at least it can't get any worse.
As if whatever messed up gods there was had decided at that exact moment to send, a strange-looking boy, who didn't have any wings at that, showed up and looked lost in thought until he noticed that he wasn't alone because I was hanging like a prized fish with one of my wings dangling from my back and arms crossed over my chest. You know it would be nice if you could cut me down from here, I had asked looking at the strange boy who just seemed to be looking at my wings like they were an unusual thing to see which was starting to make me feel uncomfortable. The boy moved closer to me reaching a hand toward my good wing walking around and examining me from my head to where my wings connected on my back when it looked like he was about to touch my good wing I used it to gain momentum to try and kick the guy with my foot that was dangling, then my foot where the rope was holding me up starting to hurt, once he had made a full circle around just staring at me not making any movement to helping me down from where I was, so I did the only thing you can think of when your stuck upside down and try to get unstuck so I started to flap my good wing trying to swing back and forward as much as I could slowly gaining momentum and that's when I noticed that I was started to swing in a circular motion, as for the boy he was just looking at me with wonder and amazement in his eyes as he just stood there watching me try to get free. As I tried to swing in the right motion I noticed a tree branch that looked close to the ground and could hold my weight within reaching distance, stretching my arms out as far as I could when I came close to it I grabbed a hold of the branch pulling myself up until I felt a tug on the rope that held my foot pulling me back plummeting to the ground until I felt something catch me before I had hit the ground but when I was caught I had landed with my wings held tight to my back well what felt like two strong arms held me but that did not stop the blood curtailing scream that came from my throat when I had landed in the boy's arms.
