Five days later and they were at White Harbour. Addam met him.
"Jaime, we're docked in. It's time." Jaime patted his friend's back.
"Thank you. For everything. I will write. Good luck friend."
"Likewise to you." Jaime had the sword that had been waiting for him as well as the bag of coins and descended the ladder onto the jetty below. With one final glance at Addam, Jaime was off.
Darion, Jaime thought. When someone asks, my name is Darion. I can no longer be Jaime Lannister, the Kingslayer, son of Tywin. I must begin again.
Jaime had never been to White Harbour. He didn't know the place. Or it's people. How loyal were they to the Stark's here?*************************************
Tyrion had been called to the Throne Room. Daenerys sat there alone.
"I want to set the Kingslayer's execution for three days from today. And I want to be the one to tell him. Come with me." Tyrion had to pretend like Jaime was still imprisoned.
"Of course Your Grace," Tyrion said evenly. "I'm sure he'll be happy to know."
"I know he's your brother, but he gets treated the same as any other."
"Yes, Your Grace." They made their way down to the Black Cells. The gaoler let them in straight away.
"Open the Kingslayer's cell," Daenerys commanded. The gaoler did as she asked. Daenerys walked in to find no prisoner there. "Wh- what's going on? Where is he?"
"Clearly he's escaped," said Tyrion. He turned on the gaoler. "How, for the past five days, have you not seen that my br... The Kingslayer isn't here?" Tyrion knew not to personalise Jaime around the Queen.
"The cell is dark," the gaoler shrugged. "Might have been there and I wouldn't know." It was obvious the wrinkled old man in charge of the cells didn't have a care in the world.
Daenerys and her Hand left the Cells and went to the council chamber. They sat.
"How could he have got out? Where would he have gone? Who was trusted enough to help him?"
"First question, someone obviously broke him out. One of the pardoned Lannister men maybe. I'll have them questioned. Second question, well he won't have stayed in Westeros. He knows he'll be hunted fiercely whilst in this continent. He'll have fled to Essos. Third question, again the Lannister men."
"Tyrion, did you have any part in this?" Tyrion was shocked that the Queen was even asking him.
"Your Grace, I am loyal to you and only to you."
"The Kingslayer is your brother. You told me he was the only member of your family who treated you with any degree of respect or kindness. It would only be natural if you had doubts about his death." Tyrion sighed. He hated to but he had to demoralise Jaime. He had to show Daenerys he was only loyal to her. And if that meant he had to discredit the one person he loved more than anyone else, that was what he had to do.
"Whoever Jaime used to be, he is no longer that person. I went to visit him, once, and he hit me and screamed in my face. He told me I was no longer part of his family. He treated me the way my sister and my father used to. I would have gladly seen him beheaded rather than deal with that."
"Why didn't you mention it before?"
"I didn't need to. I'm used to my family treating me like shit."
"I'm sorry," Daenerys said.
I'm sorry Jaime, Tyrion thought sadly. This is the only way. I'm sorry brother.
"I want ravens sent out to every corner of the Seven Kingdoms, even if he has run to Essos. A reward for the Kingslayer's capture. I will oversee it myself."
She doesn't trust me. Jaime is too close to home.
"As you say, Your Grace." He couldn't exactly refuse without looking suspicious. He just hoped Jaime had got away far enough and was managing to blend in. Addam had wrote him to say Jaime had reached White Harbour and that he was making the journey back. Tyrion just hoped White Harbour was where Jaime would stay. He hoped he wouldn't be seeing his brother for a long time.*************************************
Jaime slipped the cloak back on. He wasn't taking any chances yet. He had to find a tavern. He had a sustainable amount of money and once he found something where he could get paid, he would continue surviving. Hopefully.
He soon stumbled upon an inn. He would stay there for the night. He walked through the door and pulled down his hood but kept his face out of the light seeping through the dusty windows. The owner approached him.
"You a knight?" The owner asked, curious, nodding at the sword.
"Yes," Jaime replied flatly.
"What is your name, Ser?"
"Darion. Have you got a room for the night?"
"Always for a knight. It will be two silvers."
"Of course. I'd like to go straight there please. I would have dinner in my room." The owner nodded. Jaime paid his due then followed the woman up the stairs. Once he was safely tucked away could he breathe properly. The first few hours had gone smoothly. Once the woman had delivered his food he was left alone. He ate, then laid out his bedroll. He removed the gold hand and set it to the side and bed down for the night. He would have to get used to the cold of the North. He would be spending quite a bit of time there.*************************************
Jon Snow sat at the high table with Sansa on one side and his Hand Davos on the other. They were breaking thier fast when a messenger approached them.
"What is it?" Jon asked.
"News from King's Landing." Jon took the scroll from the messenger and the latter left. Jon broke through Daenerys' seal and unrolled it.
Jon Snow, King in the North
I was holding Ser Jaime Lannister in my dungeons, due to be executed in three days' time for murdering my father, Aerys, Second of his Name. He has, unfortunately, escaped. My Hand, Tyrion Lannister, believes The Kingslayer has fled to Essos but no ships were reported missing or entering the harbour and every one of my guards was accounted for. I believe he may still be in Westeros. There is a reward of 500 gold dragons if Lannister is captured and returned immediately for public execution. Anyone who does may also find themselves a high position in my court. It is imperative that the Kingslayer is brought swiftly to justice.
Daenerys Targaryen, Queen of the Seven Kingdoms, Khaleesi of the Great Grass Sea, The Unburnt, Mother of Dragons, Queen of the Andals, the Rhoynar and the First Men and Breaker of Chains"How can one girl have so many titles?" Jon muttered before passing the letter to Davos. "What should we do?"
"Alert the banner men," the onion knight replied. "And have the Kingslayer's name on every person's lips. If he is chancing hiding out in the North, he will be found quickly."
"But how will people know what he looks like?" Sansa chipped in.
"Your typical Lannister - blonde hair, green eyes, handsome. He's a knight so he'll have a sword. He won't be using his name. He'll stick out easily. Lannisters aren't that easy to hide. He'll be found. If he's here, he'll be found..."
