After what felt like hours of walking, Jean and I finally make it to wherever he was taking me. I had unknowingly fallen asleep within those hours as he carried me, listening to the sounds of the wind and the town around us. Part of me wanted to never wake up again, knowing that my family was gone. The other part of me, well, wanted to wake up just to be able to taste the sweetness of revenge. I didn't care if I lived anymore. I didn't care if I died anymore. All I wanted was to fight for what those Hellish monsters took away from me.

My family was all I had. And now that was gone. They were gone. I'm no longer able to help my mom with her sewing business, singing next to her while stitching up any clothes that people needed made or repaired. I'm no longer able to help my dad with his blacksmithing, the people walking in and saying: "Wow, your son did an amazing job!" And he would always reply back, proudness lacing his voice: "I don't have a son; I have two daughters and that's one of them." I'd turn around just in time to see the surprised but happy look on their faces. Lastly, I'm no longer able to play with (L/S/N) in that meadow her and I found. It had lilacs and all sorts of beautiful, sweet-smelling flowers in it. I'm no longer able to sing her favorite song to help her get to sleep. All I have now is Jean.

I finally wake up, looking up at Jean, who is still highly concentrated on getting to our destination, and smile. I lift myself up just enough to be able to place a soft peck on his cheek. "Thank you, Jean... for coming back for me..." He smiles down at me.

"I'm not ever going to leave you alone like that. I'll always be by your side. Best friends forever, and when I say 'forever,' I damn well mean 'forever." I smile at his words and hug him tighter, burying my dirty face into the crook of his neck.

(Narrator's POV)

A couple more hours pass, and they finally make it to their destination. The training field was crowded with the Survey Corps. Instantly, a little blonde-haired boy with a curious expression, a raven-haired girl with a blank expression, and finally, a raven-haired boy with a concerned expression, run up to them to see why Jean had ran from the squad. Jean only holds (Y/N) closer while explaining, not quite ready to place her down just yet. She picks her head up from his neck, looking around. She sees the three people staring at her along with the rest of the squad.

Suddenly, while scanning the crowd, she spots a male, about 5'3, with short black hair, brown eyes, fair skin, a muscular body (like all the other man of course), and a blank, yet rather pissed off expression written upon his surprisingly gorgeous features.

"Kirschtein! Where the hell have you been, brat?!" He shouts, clearly enraged by Jean's previous actions. Jean puts me down, fixing his posture and standing straight, as if waiting for a command.

"Corporal, Sir, I had to go find her. She's all I have left and her family is gone, along with her home." Jean strongly states, feeling (Y/N)'s small figure press up against his big and broad one, hiding behind him. The man only glances at her, his brown eyes soon focusing on every single detail on her and her face.

"Name." Is all he commands. She nods, now standing next to Jean, the height difference extremely noticeable considering Jean towered over her. She fixes her posture, standing straight and strong like Jean currently was.

"(Y/N), (Y/N) (Y/L/N), Sir!" She replies strongly with the perfect amount of respect. The man's lips twitch a bit, forming a tiny smile at her respect for a split second, but only enough for her to notice.

"Corporal, Corporal Levi Ackerman. Welcome to the Survey Corps, (Y/L/N)."

Sami~ Sorry this took so long! I've had literally the most horrible writer's block lately. Anyways, I hope you enjoy!
