"Beep, beep, beep–" I slammed my fist against my new alarm clock, ending the horrid sound and letting me fall back into my peaceful sleep, until I heard and saw someone barging into my room."Wakey, wakey Isla! We have school today, and it's senior year!" Liam's cheerful voice snapped me awake.
"Shut up! And get out of my room." I groaned aloud making him leave my room.
When I finally got up and out of bed, I quickly ran a brush through my hair and applied some basic eyeliner and mascara before putting my glasses on my face. I'm always wondering why I even bother with eye makeup when it's always blocked by my glasses, but it's what I've always done so I'm not bothered to start changing my routine.
I let my blonde hair cascade down my back in small waves and dressed myself with a simple hoodie, maroon skinny jeans and matched a pair of simple black laced-up boot because I didn't want to look too dressed up and stand out on the first day. I hurried out the door and met up with Liam right outside our apartment.

The walk to school, let's just say I found out Liam was such an annoying person. Every minute, asking 'are you excited?' multiple times. I don't think I've ever met a person so eager to go to school before.
Once we arrived, the annoying buggger finally left me to go and get my time tables, he also invited me to sit with his group for lunch as well which I was thankful for.
I walked through the gates and corridors, noticing that the school itself was much smaller than my old one in New York. The front office looked much like the front desk of a doctor's office, which made me tingle with nervousness.
As soon as I received my schedule, I skimmed through the subjects I had today and rushed down the hallways to my first class, hoping the butterflies in my stomach would end up going away.
I stopped in front of a rusty, green door which I hesitated to knock on.
What if it's going to be like my school in New York? I remember being stared down from with immense pressure.
*** Flashback ***
I stepped into the classroom unwillingly as eyes pierced through me. Their gaze watching my every move and whispering about me. My backstabber, or so called best friend didn't even dare look at me, but greeted me quietly as I found my seat. It was humiliating.Embarrassing.
I just wanted to run away and hide inside my room forever.
*** End Flashback ***
Before I could even knock, an unfamiliar figure walked past me, standing in front of the door.
Everything about him, the chiseled jawline, the jet-black hair which was gelled to perfection, the incredible build that you could see even from under his layer of clothes and the electric blue eyes which caught my own.
"I've never seen you around before, You going in as well?" His voice was husky yet velvety and made me hold back a smile.
"Uh, yeah. I'm new to this school." I answered.
"Cool! I'll introduce you."
"Thanks"
He opened the door fully, allowing me to walk in first, what a nice gentleman. My first sight was the teacher, who I might add, had a pretty nice face to look at and secondly the students. Some looked bored and some were looking way too eager, just like someone I knew. *Cough cough, Liam*.
The teacher first greeted the dashing stranger, who I realised was named Greyson Starr and then me.
"Hello there, you must be our new student, I'm Mr. Hayes, in charge of you for homeroom and here, History. Do you want to introduce yourself to the class?"
"Um...hello, I'm Isla Nixon, I just moved here from New York and...um, yeah." I stuttered the last line still feeling pressured from the many faces staring back at me.
"Well Isla, you can sit next to Alvan Collins back in the third row."
I took my seat and stared at Greyson who sat diagonally from me in the second row, still looking as beautiful as ever. Although my thoughts were interrupted by my seat-buddy, Alvan.
"So, you from New York huh? A lotta hot chicks from there, you look like one too." I tried ignoring his indirect flirt and focused on what the teacher was saying, but apparently that didn't work, because after the lesson I had learnt nothing.

When lunch came, I was in a complete loss. Since Liam invited me to sit with their group, I forgot to ask him where exactly they sat. Another valuable information I didn't get was his number, and no not for those kind of purposes, no just to find him and where he was.
I wandered through the corridors, then through the cafeteria and nope, no sign of him. As I walked in and out of places, I spotted Greyson also walking around looking stressed. I nearly walked over to him, but then I heard a loud, familiar voice yell out my name.
"ISLAAAAA! I was looking all over for you!" Liam ran closer and closer to me, then suddenly grabbing me by my arm and dragging me somewhere.
"Okay, okay, I'm coming and I can walk by myself." He let go and said sorry, saying he was worried that something bad happened to me.
"Nothing bad is going to happen to me! I mean I've only been here for a few hours. I was just...finding you!" I followed Liam to a secluded room where I saw Alvan and some of his other friends eating lunch. Alvan...I knew it, annoying people stick together. I quietly sighed and sat down, kind of skeptical of everyone.
Liam started off, "Okay, everyone, this is Isla Nixon. She's the sister of my apartment roommate and the same year as us. Be nice, yeah!"
"Uh...hi, nice to meet you all."
I later learned the names of everyone. Alvan, of course. A girl named Safia who had beautiful, bouncy brunette curls that stopped right at her shoulder and another guy called Jaxin who looked super tall even while sitting down.
In the final period, I had math and luckily enough, Safia was in my class.
"Hey, I didn't know you were in extension maths? This class is hard girl!" She asked quietly.
"Um yeah, I guess the math from my old school is around this level" I smiled back at her. I looked around, trying to familiarise myself with everyone, when I noticed, again Greyson sitting in the second row, diagonally from me. Is he stalking me or something? I decided to ask Safia about it.
"Hey, do you know anything about Greyson Starr?" I said, as the teacher, Mr. Rendrick, started the class.
"Ooh! Already crushing on a guy huh? Just joking, well he's the–" she was suddenly stopped short by the teacher who had a stern look on his face.
"Uh...sorry sir" she then turned back to me and said she would tell me later.
So after that period, I had learned absolutely nothing about Greyson and as for math, I was zoned out for just about everything.
At the end of school, I met up with Liam at the back gates and walked home. My mind was only filled about a certain someone and though I was going to ask Liam, he was acting way too annoying, bombarding me with useless questions.
I'll probably get a chance to ask Safia about it tomorrow...
