Phoebe's POV

*He walked past me and said hi* I repeated in my head. Liam payne was the most popular boy in school and he hardly ever spoke to a girl who either wasn't a cheerleader or classed as a 'popular' girl. He walked towards me. Then he stopped and smiled. He said 'Hi' and carried on walking almost as if it was a normal thing for him. My friend looked and me and then I looked at her. I almost screamed with excitement. "Did you see that?!' Peggy (my best friend) asked. "Yes! OMG! He said hi to me! He said hi! To ME!" I said with excitement. We had to lower our voices because people started looking at us.

When the end of school bell rang I almost skipped through the doors. My heart still fluttering from the event earlier on. However, when I got to the car park I noticed Liam standing next to my BMW F30. "Nice car." He said. "It's a new model isn't it?" He carried on. " Thank you, and yeah it is." I said. I didn't know what to say about cars. I knew nothing about them. Only that boys liked them. My mom and dad bought me the car for my sweet 16.

"Do you want a lift home?" I asked. "If you don't mind. My dad took my car away because apparently I don't drive safe enough" He replied. Peggy ran over and gripped my arm. "I just have to steal her for a second." She said to Liam. He nodded. "Don't mess this up Phoebe! You have one shot! Make it count!" She whispered in my ear. "Are you giving him a lift home?" She asked. "Yeah, he said yes too!" I whispered back. "I mean it Phoebs, don't ruin this chance for yourself. It's not everyday Liam Payne will accept a lift from girls like me and you." She said. "I won't." I replied. "Gotta go." I said and dashed back to my car. Liam was still standing there.

The drive home wasn't even that awkward. We really got talking and he really was a nice guy. Along with his good looks and charms of course. I knew a lot more about him now than what I ever thought I would. "This is me." He said taking off his belt as I pulled over to the sidewalk. He leaned in and kissed me gently on the cheek. "Thanks for the ride babe." He said winking. Before he got out he placed a piece of paper in my hand. It had his number on it. I felt so lucky.
