Online relationships are much more complex than people crack them up to be. You see, i'm in an online relationship with a girl named Mikasa. We have know each other online 8 years and have been dating for almost one but we've never met in person.
Sure we've video chatted and Skyped but it's not the same thing as being in person. Coincidentally, our one year anniversary is coming up next week and Mikasa is planning on flying down to meet me today.
To say i'm nervous is an understatement. I'm so terrified we're going to meet me and then is going to not like me anymore. What if she thinks i'm ugly? What if she thinks i'm stupid? What if?
There are so many things that could go wrong and it terrifies me. But i'm also very excited. I get to finally meet my girlfriend in person and nothing could make me happier. I just hope she still likes me...
***Time Skip***
I'm currently sitting at the airport, waiting for Mikasa. Her plane should land in about 5-10 minutes and my heart is racing. I'm still so nervous about finally meeting her. At that moment I receive a text. I see it's from Mikasa and I open it eagerly.
Mikasa: My planes about to land babe! I'm so excited to finally see you in person!!
(Y/n): Me too! But...what if you don't like me?
Mikasa: Don't like you? How could I ever not like you?
(Y/n): What if i'm not go enough? Or if i'm to ugly? Or weird?
Mikasa: (y/n). Your imperfections make you perfect. I love you for who you are and nothing could ever change that.
(Y/n): I love you too. Thanks, that made me feel a bit better!
Mikasa: Good! I'm going to make sure to give you a big hug the minute I see you!
(Y/n): What would I do without you?
Mikasa: You would not run and give me a hug...look up.
I looked up, confused at what she meant and when I did I saw my beautiful girlfriend standing in front of me, arms open. Tears sprung to my eyes and I ran to her, jumping into her arms.
We fall to the floor, not daring to break our embrace. We hold each other tightly, afraid of letting go. After a moment we pull back and she looks me over.
She leans in and places her forehead on mine. "You're everything I could have hoped for." She whispered to me, placing her lips on mine for the first time.
***Time Skip...again***
We arrive at my apartment and I help Mikasa carry her bags to my room. Once we get inside and show her around. "Since I live alone, I only have one bedroom so we can share it or if you're not comfortable with that, I can sleep on the couch." I told her, secretly hoping she would want to share the bedroom.
"No we can share your room! Besides, cuddling with you would be perfect right now." She said with a mischievous smile. I grin back and grab her hand. "I think I can make that happen." I say and I pull her to my bedroom.
We lay in the bed and tangle ourselves together. "I really do love you (y/n). I just want you to know I really do think your perfect." She whispered, running her hands through my hair. I look up at her and smile. "I love you to Mikasa, I don't know how I got so lucky." And with that we fall asleep.
Sometime later I woke up with a chill. I tried to pull the blanket around me but it wouldn't budge. I turned to see what was holding it and saw Mikasa with almost the whole blanket wrapped around her. "Mikasa! You're such a blanket hog!!!"
