Dark shades of grey pervated with the sense of emptiness filled the sky. Carla drove fast, her eyes scanning the bewailed empty streets in the growing lush of pitch blackness. The thunders and roars chanted ferociously in the sky. She rushed through her garden, into the house before the rain falls. The house seemed bigger than ever, crushed with solicitious silence as if anyone hasn't been here before. After a quick change, she cuddled on the couch with a plate of french fries and an espresso from the kitchen. Surprisingly, she could only hear the crunching sound of crispy salt fries that seemed to fill the house. That was strange and peculiar. The windows creaked and thumped when the hefty wind collided with it with the mournful sound of howling. After she finished her espresso she limped into the kitchen and washed the plates and dishes. The water was sorely cool and her hands quivered. Later, she silently walked up the stairs and the passage was dark for she had forgotten the light. Suddenly she paused and gasped. She was immensely startled by a loud thumping noise that vibrated the floors. Her legs shivered. When she looked up,she realised that it was the door of her parent's room that was closed so deliberately. But how? I just double locked the door so how did it open?,she asked herself. Slowly she paced up the stairs. With trembling hands she touched the knob of the door again and double locked it. She walked to her room, felt the ghastly sound of footsteps behind her and turned. It was nothing but the hollow empty passage. She hurried to her room and closed the door behind her. Every now and then she heard very faint, weird noises that crept her mind. She was scared,so scared so she digged her face into the pillow and huddled within the quilt.
What will happen to her tonight?
