The bus is crammed. Scott didn't think that so many people would want to drive from LA to Texas by bus, he thought planes were more common these days. After all, this is a 29 hour ride and it surprises him how many people were willing to do this.He walked up and down the bus for what feels like a million times now and there were only a few seats left. He'd have to sit next to a stranger, which is exactly what he wanted to aviod in the first place.
After thinking for a bit, Scott decides to approach the brunette sitting rather far in the back of the bus.
"Excuse me, would you mind if I took the seat next to you? Almost all the others are taken and you definitely look like nicer company than the old grumpy man in the front." He says, nervously shifting in his place and fixing his blonde hair without really being aware of it.
The brunette boy looks up at Scott for a second before smiling and nodding. "Sure, I wouldn't mind some company anyways." he says, moving a bit more to the window so the blonde can sit down.
Scott puts his bag down on the floor in front of him and looks at the brunette again. He's smal, but literally everyone is small compared to himself, and skinny, probably younger than Scott, but not too much younger. They could be around the same age too.
It's silent for a bit before the brunette speaks up. "My name is Mitch by the way." Scott nodded. "I like your name, it fits you a lot. Oh, and I'm Scott." He internally laughs at his own awkwardness.
"How old are you? Sorry if that's rude to ask, but I'm curious." Mitch asks. "I'm 22 and I'm guessing you are about as old as I am, if not younger."
Mitch smiles and nods his head again. "I'm 21, so yeah, a little bit younger."The two continue talking about random things for the next two hours and neither of them noticed that the bus had started moving, they were too cought up in their conversation.
They soon realized how similar they are. Both of them love music and singing, they love coffee and Beyoncé and both work in the show business, Mitch being a makeup artist and Scott a director. They figured that they should work together some time.
Mitch can't shake the feeling that something clicked between them. The blonde could easily be his soulmate, at least that's what his gut is telling him. It feels like they've know each other for years, while in reality it's only been two hours.
"So, why are you going to Texas? Won't they film a new movie in Dallas soon? Omg, will you be working on set there?" Scott asks, genuinely interested and excited now.
Mitch laughs a little before answering. "Actually no, I will not work on set. I'm just visiting family because I haven't seen them in months.""Oh. Well, I'm visiting family too. I haven't been in Arlington forever." Scott explains. He can't help but notice the look that formed on Mitch's face. He's surprised. "You're from Arlington too?" The brunette asks, the question explaining his reaction. Scott didn't answer, he just nodded and wondered how they've never met before.
"Wait, you're telling me we both grew up in Arlington, both moved to LA, both work in the film industry, yet we've never met? This is crazy!" Mitch couldn't help but laugh at this. Like, what's the possibility of this actually happening?
"It's kind of sad to know that I've missed out on meeting you for 21 years. I bet we would have been the best of friends in high school." Scott says, partially joking, but meaning it anyways.
"You think? What were you like in high school? Because judging by your looks you were a sporty person and I was the literal definition of a sterotypical gay choir nerd." Mitch is taken back by his own words. He didn't mean to meantion his sexuality, but at this point there wasn't much to lose anyways.
