Arianne POV
"Get the hell out of here!", some old fat white guy yelled at me.
I rolled my eyes and said, "Calm yo nuts grandpa, I'm going", I grabbed my backpack full of clothes, drugs, money, and memories, and shortly whimpered as he grabbed my arm roughly. For an old guy, he's pretty strong.
"Back in my day, our slaves treated us with respect", he said.
Oh hell no! I might not be fully black, but I still took offence to that. I squirmed out of his grip, kicked him and the balls and ran.
"F*ck you, you old dirty bastard", I yelled and stuck my tongue out and put up my middle fingers.
"Going somewhere?", a male voice said.
"Carlos!!", I screamed and jumped on him.
"Hey Sis", he smiled and kissed my forehead, "where you going?"
"*sigh* Who knows", I pouted.
"What do you mean who knows?"
"I really don't know", I said as he eyed my bookbag.
"Noo Arianne", he said as I nodded.
"Yes Carlos. I couldn't take the sh*t anymore. He called me a whore and disrespected my mother", I said with tears welding up in my eyes.
Carlos pulled me into a hug and I cried into his shirt.
"C'mon", he said.
"Where we going?"
"To your dad's"
"Step-father's", I corrected.
"Right. My fault".
I laughed and followed.
~30 minutes later
"Thanks Bro", I said.
"You're welcome. Anything for you".
"How long do you think he'll stay unconcious?"
"Probably an hour or two. I don't know. Just glad you collected some money, drugs, and more clothes and stuff", he said.
"Yeah".
"You know", he started, "you can stay at my place if you want".
"Really? Thanks Carlos".
"You're welcome Ma. Now come on", he said taking my hand so that we could cross the street.
