Vincent's POV

Someone quietly raps on my door.

"Come in," I hoarsely rasped.

"Sir, there's the boy waiting for you outside."

I glance up from my pile of work and nod at my attendant.

"Do I let him in?"

I nod again waving my hand, dismissing him. I was too preoccupied with work to be able to be bothered with other trivial things.

Soon after, my door bursts open with a bang and I look up from my stack of paperwork making sure to glare at the intruder. My glare dims upon the pitiful sight of Jeydon.

"Hey," he greets weakly with a sad attempt of a smile.

"Why are you here? I thought you were living with Zane," I replied flatly without a single greeting.

"My ass got dumped."

It was so wrong, but I couldn't help but feel a small sliver of hope.

"Why are you back here then? You know fully well you could go straight back home, so why are you showing your pathetic face here?" I coldly spat when I was truly jumping for joy on the inside. It's stupid, but I can't help but be cruel.

I watched him stand there awkwardly biting his bottom lip.

"I- I don't know," he stammered flustered. Surprisingly he wasn't as flamboyant as he used to be a month ago. What happened to him during the span of time we were separated?

"Are you here to play games with me?"

"No!" He denies almost immediately.

"I- I..." He looks up at me with despair in his eyes and he immediately wrenches his eyes away from mine hanging his head down. I felt a prick of pain at his broken expression.

"I'm sorry." He turns around and just before he opens the door to leave he pauses. "Thank you."

He closes the door behind him and I'm shocked, I stood still remembering his retreating back.

It was like he had a complete 180. Never had he ever thanked me before. Appalled, I fell into my chair staring in wonder, what happened to him?

Jeydon's POV

I climbed into my bed laying on my side, I was such a coward. Vincent and I was finally reunited, yet here I was away from him and not making any real progress to our relationship. A sigh escapes from my lips. I started having my doubts, maybe I should've just returned home... I missed Lexi anyways. But I didn't want to give up so soon, I'd end up leaving with so many regrets.

But to what extent will I go for there to be an us? And would he actually be okay with it this time? And did I even have a chance?

Someone gently knocks my door.

"Who is it?"

"Victoria."

"Come in."

She opens the door and closes it behind her.

"Hey," I faintly greeted her.

"Hey, how've you been?" She asked with concern evident in her voice.

"Confused and lost, I just have no clue what to do anymore."

"Is it Vincent?" Victoria asked.

"Yeah, I really want there to be a future for us, I was actually genuinely interested in him from the beginning and then there were distractions and barriers that just threw me off track and away from my one true goal."
