That night dreams of her only friend filled her head. she had committed suicide 7 months ago. Jessica and her had never been very close, but she was all Jessica had. since her death, Jessica had never trusted anyone the same. Jessica had never seen her strings snap until it was too late. that day she had witnessed her fall, her last stand. Her strings became too weak and she plunged into darkness like many before her. it crushed Jessica. Watching her slow decent. She had never been the same. Now she was following in her friends footsteps.

The next night, Jessica's parents had went out. she grabbed the cold hard metal and felt it slide along her skin. she positioned it carefully when the phone rang. it was Isabelle.

"Hey, you wanna come over? "

Her cheery voice went through Jessica's ear and went deep into her heart. it told her to just hold on a little. It told her that everything would be ok.

"Hey, earth to jessica..."

"Ya I'd love to come over. be there in 5."

For the first time in awhile, a smile spread across Jessica's face. She was acting like a normal teenager, hanging out with normal people and she liked it that way. she could get used to this.

With that thought she grabbed her coat and walked outside, taking a deep breath and noticing the stars once again. maybe we are like stars, and maybe there is a way to keep us from falling. Maybe there is a way to fix the very things that are keeping us alive, keeping us up in the shining sky. maybe I just haven't figured it out just yet.

She stepped into her car, turned the radio up and drove to Isabelle's. Isabelle stood in the doorway, that reassuring smile spread across her face.

"Hey! come In!"

After hanging up her coat, the girls went to Isabelle's bedroom. Her mint green walls were plastered in band posters.

"You like it?"

"Ya." Jessica said, a little dazed.

"So, let's get down to business." Isabelle said with that mysterious look on her face.

"I've asked a... friend to come too."

"I think they can help you." she added

Oh so this is what this is all about.

She remembered the time when she had been to a councillor after her friend, Laura's death. it was on that day when something snapped inside of her. she started to learn from Laura. it was on that day that when the councillor asked her about Laura she just snapped. She couldn't handle it anymore. Since then she became more isolated, alone, angry, and depressed every day. it was since she had screamed at the counsellor, overturned the desk she was sitting at and left the room with rage covering her face. she remembered saying

"You don't know her. You didn't know her. And there's nothing we can do to change what happened. And I don't eNt to talk about it." before leaving. She remembered her parents never looking at her in the same way. when before their eyes had love, caring and happiness towards her, they now had a look of dispair, mistrust, and disgust. disgust at what their own child was turning Into. The image of their faces after they heard what she had done to the councillor was I graved into her mind. She deffinatly didn't want to see someone that was just trying to 'help' her with her problems. She'd had enough of that. She could Handle her own problems.

"Hey, I think that's him!" Isabelle said while making her way to get the door.

Him!? Jessica thought
