KIRA WOULD NEVER REGRET her decision to leave with the Shiprock skinwalkers. In a way, it was better if she were to leave before someone got hurt (again) because of her. She was dangerous and Kira realized that now.

That didn't mean that she had to like staying with the three women. They were tough on Kira─she would never expect less from the skinwalkers─and very blunt to a fault. If she sucked, they told her so. If she was falling under their expectations, they told her so. If she was losing grip of her humanity, well, let's just say that the Shiprock women had ways of torturing without killing.

It was at least a year or two─she even earned two tails in the years! Even her mom hadn't earned her tails that fast!─Kira went up to the three women after sitting in their cavern for a few minutes and demanded that she leave.

Kira wasn't going to lie: she was scared. She wouldn't put it past the women to fight, and win said fight, to make her keep her word. While Kira knew that she wasn't in full control of her kitsune, she was in enough control to fight back against her fox-half if she ever needed to. This would probably keep them from letting her lose. And this time her mother, Scott, and Stiles weren't around to help her out of it. So, Kira straightened her back. Imagine her surprise when the women only looked to one another and nodded back to her with light smiles.

"You may go." The leader said as she stood to her feet.

"But be warned." The other women stared ominously.

"We will find you if the demon-fox in you had harmed an innocent." The last one finished.

"And we will cut you down." All three said in unison and Kira found herself shivering. She knew that all three women were being very serious and she didn't doubt one bit that she would be dead taking them on in a real fight. She simply nodded and the leader reached behind her back, throwing something at her feet.

Kira's breath caught in her throat.

Her sword. It was her belt sword.

She hadn't been able to lay a hand on the mystic object; it being a trigger for her fox and a way for her to lose control she had been banned from touching it until she learned self-control.

Kira lifted her head and smiled gently as the saw the women motion for her to take it and she bent down, flexing the sword out to it's full length and smiling at the sudden rush of power she felt. She bowed deeply to the women and thanked them for their teachings and lessons. Without them, Kira was sure that she wouldn't even be able to the world as herself again.

Kira bowed one more time and took off, knowing that it wouldn't take her long to reach civilization.

She lied though. She would miss the skinwalker women; but only a little bit.
