Everything about him struck fear into you whether it be his actions, his touch or even his smile. Out of all of those, it was that damn smile of his that you feared the most. He smiled whenever he was pleased with you, whenever he was annoyed, and even smiled when he was stabbing the life out of a person. Witnessing that was what turned a smile you used to adore so much to one from your worst nightmares.

Looking back on it, it was hard to tell if he intended on letting you see that one of many brutal murders he committed. He didn't seem surprised when you stumbled into the basement and screamed at the sight of what he had done. He even had all the doors locked so that he was easily able to grab you before you could manage to figure out how to unlock the door.

He acted as if he truly cared for you yet he would beat you senseless if you refused to submit to him. The abundance of bruises that littered your body was a painful reminder of that. Some days, you even wished that he would just take your life and make it all end. It was a desperate dream that you never thought you'd be able to reach. On his good days, he would force you to sit on his lap and tell you about how much he wanted - no, needed you there with him.

The sound of the bedroom door being opened made you freeze. Your heart rate sped up when you realized that he'd be coming out to the kitchen where you were. Any sense of logic you still had left was telling you to relax, that you did nothing wrong. Whether or not that was true, it didn't take much to set off Sangwoo. He was a loose cannon and his target was always you.

Your body tensed as you heard his footsteps start to approach you. Adrenaline started coursing through your body and it took everything you had in you not to move. Running away from him only made things worse for yourself. With shaky hands, you continued to prepare a meal for him. You couldn't help but jump when you felt his arms wrap around your waist from behind.

"I'm glad to see that you've finally learned your place," he whispered in your ear after placing a kiss on your cheek.

The only thing you wanted at that moment was to pull away and run out the door, but you knew he would catch you before you could even move five steps. You would only be setting yourself up for pain.

His lips pressed against your face once again and you couldn't help but feel disgusted. Not being able to take it anymore, you finally moved away to grab another ingredient to place in the pot you were cooking in. He stood there with his arms crossed watching you move around the kitchen. His smile was still plastered on his face, but something told you that it wasn't because he was happy. He looked almost impatient. Before you could start working on the meal again, he grabbed your arm and yanked it roughly to force you to face him.

"I'm not hungry so you can cook later," he told you as he took a step closer to you and placing his hands on your waist.

For all the weeks you had been there, Sangwoo rarely touched you unless it was to chain you down and beat you. This sudden urge he got was new and it frightened you to no extent. It took everything you had in you not to break down whenever he got near you, the idea of him touching you like this made you feel absolutely disgusted. Disgusted with what he was doing and by the fact that you couldn't do anything about it.

Before you could react, he slammed his lips against yours. Instinctively, your hands shot up to push him away, but he grabbed them before you could anything. Tears began to stroll down your eyes as he continued to kiss you, pushing you back until you were trapped between him and the counter. There was nowhere to run and nothing you could do; all you could hope for was that he would stop soon.

A whimper escaped your mouth as he let go of one of your hands and began to move his down towards your lower region. Being forced to kiss him was bad enough, you couldn't let this go any further. Gathering up the last of your courage, you pushed him away from you as hard as you could with one hand and moved to the side, never taking your eyes off of his quickly darkening face.

"Please don't," you begged as you slowly backed away from him.

"Come back here now, (Y/N)," he said, his voice deadly calm.

"Please-"

Before you could get the rest of your words out, he lunged. Without realizing what you were doing, you grabbed the knife sitting on the counter and raised it up, causing him to stop in his tracks. You held it up with shaky hands and tried your best to look menacing with it.

"Stay back," you warned him, your voice faltering.

For a second, you thought he would actually back off. You thought you had actually won. But just as soon as you had let your guard down, it only took a mere second for him to pry the knife out of your hand and knock you down with a clean blow to your face. Stars danced across your vision as you collapsed to the ground from the force of the blow.

He didn't even give you any time to recover before he stood over you and continued to beat you senseless. After the fifth hit, you couldn't even feel the pain anymore. You were completely numb. That smile of his that you despised so much appeared once again as soon as he landed the first blow.

"You're mine, got it?" he told you as he continued to repeatedly hit you. "If I want to kiss you, I will. If I want to touch you, I will. You're mine and you always will be."

His words were so difficult to process. Everything felt so difficult for you. Breathing was tiring. When you opened your eyes, you couldn't see him or even anything at all. Even his words were starting to drown out. All sensations were becoming lost to you. You always wanted a way out and even if this wasn't what you hoped for, you were finally free of him.

Now it was your turn to smile.
