M E M O R Y

I watch people forget me
the memory of me slips away
as though I were nothing
I pretend like I don't notice
I pretend like everything is fine
but it's not
I see you choose them over me
I wouldn't pick me either
but don't pretend that I'm not here
I may be the one who got hurt
but you're the one who left
you're the one who forgot
and now I'm the stupid one who's left with nothing but empty promises and memories
