phil walked into work that day confident. he knew that he would have to stand up to his verbally abusive boss but at least that would be the last time he would talk to him. phil walked behind the counter and smiled at his "friend" clarise. she smiled back sarcastically and continued making the drink she was working on.phil went directly into his boss' office and without hesitation he went, "hello."
"what do you want phil?" he said unamused. phil swallowed the slight guilt he had for leaving and mucked up the courage, "i just wanted to let you know, that i will-"
"oh i forgot to tell you that you're closing thursday," his boss stated in the most robot-y voice ever. phil stopped, "actually, i can't."
"you what?" his boss spat. phil took a deep breath. you can do this phil, it's just two words.
"im quitting."
silence. then a chuckle.
his boss stared at him, "like we needed you anyway! give me your smock you twat."
phil rolled his eyes and threw the tacky green smock at him. he stomped out the office and slammed the door. he was so done with that job. he's never been happier to quit.
"p-phil?" says a small voice. phil turned around and saw pansie. she was the only person who really cared and liked him as a friend. she was a shy, small college student who never spoke up to anyone. her hazel brown hair flows to her shoulders and her eyes glow of emerald green.
"hey pansie," phil says calmly. he knows she's a shy person and is very venerable at times. so even if he is steaming with madness, he was to be calm. for her.
"where are you going?" she questions. phil sighs, "i just quit, i'm heading to my new job."
"new job?" she sounds hurt. phil walks closer to her and gives her a warm hug. "yeah, remember the one i was telling you about? i got the job!"
"oh, that's great phil!" pansie says happily. but she wasn't happy. she didn't want phil to go. she felt safe and comfortable whenever he was around. she liked liked phil. she was afraid he'll meet new people and forget about her forever.
phil thanked pansie and gave her one last hug. he starts to walk out of the store when he turns around one last time to wave goodbye to her. she smiles a little and waves goodbye back.
then, very happily, phil skipped to his car, and drove to back home to get ready for his new job.
..::on wednesday::..
phil got up excitedly. he hasn't been so ecstatic to start a new job. he was like that when he first applied for the barista job, but that didn't turn out well. like a fucking ninja, phil was brushing his teeth while combing his hair all while trying to pull up his black skinny jeans.
when phil completed all his morning tasks, he instantly rushed out the door. jumping into his car he eagerly drove 30 minutes to the BBC building. finally, after waiting in London traffic and parking his car, he sped walked into the tall building.
phil swung open the door and he was revealed to a beautiful entrance filled with colors. light red walls filled the build and busy studio and workers buzzed around the place. phil couldn't believe his eyes. this is where he was working. this amazing place filled with people who were actually enjoying their work.
phil turned around, observing the place when he didn't realize that someone ran straight into him.
phil turns around quickly and there stood a stranger with brown fringe and small freckles sprinkled around his face. he was beautiful.
"i-i'm so sorry," phil stutters. he brown fringed stranger shook his head, "no, it was my fault. i wasn't looking to where i was going."
phil blushed just a tad and quickly brushed off his shirt. "sorry again," the stranger exclaims and quickly sped off into the building. what a great day to start off, phil thought, im such an-
"hi! you must be phil lester," interrupts a voice.
