Carter and I just arrived at our old school, before when he and I were still here, we never talked nor did we even know existed.
Why are we here you ask? Well, there's this play called Lady Aoi that my old classmates are going to be presenting but I guess I misread the memo, today's play is Go Rider, which is about some kid and his girlfriend, both still in college and they suddenly are going to have a baby but the guys dad didn't approve so they committed suicide (with the unborn baby in the girl) by running in front of a running truck on a motorcycle, blah, blah, blah... so yeah, in other words, we wasted our time but we were still going to watch it anyway but the play is still not on until a few more hours so Carter and I decided to wait in my house instead for a while.
"Wanna walk instead of call my driver?" I asked.
"Sure, no prob, got food at home?" Carter asked. I rolled my eyes and laughed.
"Duhh, dork," I said and with that we started walking to my house.
Nothing much was happening, we just hung out in my room, he played a little Roguelands while I played some Eminem music, my dad checking in every now and then since he didn't like having guys in my room and I know that he didn't want to humiliate me in front of my friend by scolding me, telling not to have guys in my room, which I'm glad he didn't do that.
"When are we going back?" Carter asked as I rearranged my book shelf.
"Depends, what time is it now?" I say, looking at him, patiently waiting for an answer.
He looked down at his watched and answered "It's... 5:49..." and he looked up with a smile towards me, it lasted only a second and he started packing his laptop.
That smile... I know this will sound cliche, but that kind of... made me like him... like, more than a friend. I shook the thought off at the time cause I was still kind of confused and I wasn't sure if I liked him in that way either.
*back to our old school*
We walked in the auditorium and took our seats and waited for the play to start.
To be honest, the acting was weak, it's like they only practiced the lines on the last minute and I can tell they worked on their props more since they did a hella great job on that but the acting was ugh, the cringe.
More than half-way of the play, the drunk part was on and this kid just kept putting the beer bottle down and starts picking it up again and back down on the coffee table and then back in his hand and so on, it was kind of funny to be honest with you, I giggled, too. I'm guessing I'm not the only one who noticed since Carter was also laughing.
A few heads turned towards us and we stopped for a second until they stop staring, I tried to keep my giggles to myself but that wasn't working since the kid kept doing the beer bottle thing again and again which made me laugh even more... I eventually just left the auditorium and waited for Carter to come out, too.
Once he was out and the auditorium door was completely shut, we started laughing our asses off. Once we were both done, we waited in one of the classrooms and talked a bit.
"What's the thing you hate most about Jacky? Mine is when he skips math, specifically math cause his stomach 'hurts', f*cking fake ass..." Carter huffed and I giggled lightly.
"Same but also the fact that whenever we try to be nice to him, he'll make some random lie about whoever tries to be nice to him and the teachers always believe him..." I rant.
"Well, the only reason they do take his side is because he has something in his brain that doesn't function properly, at least that's what I was informed of..." Carter explained.
