"Had fun last night?" Fred somehow became her partner in Defense Against Dark Arts.
"What?" Lia looked at the boy sitting beside her. "Why are you here, next to me again?"
"Oh, your friend," He pointed at Bea, "Asked me to switch seat with her."
Lia turned to Bea and saw her sitting with Archie. Bea winked at her and smiled cheekily.
"No wonders." She sighed, Bea always chose Archie over her.
"So, back to my question, did you have fun last night?" Fred was resting his head and arms on the table lazily, not paying any attention to class.
"How would you... Oh! That's you! You were messing with me yesterday! I should knew it wasn't Peeves!" Lia clapped her hand and slapped Fred's arm slightly. "How am I so dumb?"
"Ouch!" Fred complained,"You were adorable when you got annoyed. Glad you figure it out now. It took you so long."
"Save it, Fred. How did you do it though? Do you have, like, some invisibility cloaks?" She asked excitedly. "Can I borrow it? So next time I don't have to worry about getting caught."
"It's not a invisibility cloak." Fred took out a black juice. "Da-da! Look at this lovely thing-Invisibility juice. George and I invented it last week. We were doing a little experiment last night. But it can only last for 10 minutes."
"Wicked!" Lia took the little bottle from Fred. "I surely need it. Can I buy one from you?"
"You can have it, free of charge." Fred shrugged.
"Why, thank you!" Lia chuckled, "I owe you one."
"I will remember it." Fred smiled.
Somehow the room seemed to be lighten up by his warm smile. He always had this magical power-to make everyone smile. Lia stared at him for a while and wondered how his smile could be this beautiful.
"Hey, munchkin. Stop staring at me."
"What? I didn't." Lia felt her face slightly heat up. "And stop calling me munchkin!"
"No, I love this name." Fred protested. "Munchkin?"
"What?"
"You should smile more. You look beautiful when you smile."
Lia felt her face heat up again. What does that even mean? Is this a compliment?
Lia looked over to Fred again and saw him already sleeping. She sighed again and finally giving her attention back to the professor.
The things Fred said had made her distracted all day. Lia seriously thought that something was wrong with her right now. Why did her keep thinking what he said?
"So, Lia, you don't have a boyfriend and I don't have a girlfriend. You don't wanna go with Julian. I think we should be going together, as friend, you know." Finn suggested. He looked at Lia expectantly. "It would be embarrassing to go to a ball alone, don't you think?"
Finn waited for a while but not getting any reply. He looked at Lia and saw her stare at the fire and thinking.
"Ophelia!" Finn pushed her shoulder.
"Yes?" Lia snapped her head to Finn. "What did you just say?"
"I said let's go to the ball together!" Finn repeated. "You don't want to go alone, right?"
"Yes, yes, yes. Let's go together." Lia sighed. "How miserable. Did anyone ask you as a date? You have some admirers."
"Maybe two or three. But I told them you are my date and they left crying." Finn smirked.
"Ha ha." Lia laughed dryly. "What if I said no? What if I go with someone else? Your lovers would know you are lying."
"Oh, Lia, I know you are going to say yes." Finn chuckled. "Also, I would know if anyone asks you as a date."
"Merlin!" Lia groaned, covering her face. "Stalker! Do we need some matching suit and dress? It looks less miserable that way. We could make us look like a couple."
Lia had never really had a date in previous years. She mostly went with Finn and Bea. Last year, she went with a guy named Will and it was very embarrassing through the night. She then decided it would be better to go with Finn.
"Whatever you said, princess."
