(NOT EDITED)
I woke up the next morning feeling refreshed. I walked into my bathroom and had a shower. After that, I went into my wardrobe and got changed into red skinny jeans a tight grey top, and my black leather jacket. If you couldn't already tell, that jacket is really important to me.
After I was ready, I went outside and had the maid lead me to breakfast.
When I got there everyone was sitting down at the large table. Granny was the first to speak to me. "Hello dear, did you sleep well." I smiled warmly at her.
"Yep!" I popped the 'p'. I remembered my dream about how I went to the 'Royal Academy of Swords', or 'RAS' for short. It was amazing, I got to go out with Evan, make friends with the most deadly warrior woman of them all, Tiana, and then I even bonded with my own beast! It was an amazing dream. But instead of explaining that, I just said, "I'm really excited about this afternoon, I've done the math in my head, and converting Australian eastern standard time, to new york time, 'Academy of Swords' should air this afternoon!" I smile brightly as think of my plans for this afternoon.
"Whats that deary?" Granny asks keeping the conversation. I can feel the glare my father and 'Step Mother' are giving me, but I pretend not to notice.
"It's an anime! It's my favourite show of all time! It's amazing! It's about this academy called the 'Royal Academy of swords', and the prince ran away from the castle with only his father knowing where he is, but he secretly attends the academy. He's actually one of the top 10 most powerful students in the school, but no-one knows who the most powerful students are, as they never show themselves, and they have codenames! He pretends to be the weakest of all the students, secretly training with a select group of people he trusts! And-" I was in my own world now, just rambling about the show.
"Ha ha, the rumours are true then? You're the biggest fangirl in the group?" I stopped my rambling as the boy voiced what he was saying. I hesitated before answering, as I wasn't quite sure of him, but then I remembered it's his parent's fault, not his. I smiled nervously all the same.
"Yeah! The biggest fangirl in the school if you ask me, well, when it comes to this show that is!" Soon enough the maids put the food in front of us. The aroma of bacon, eggs, french toast, orange juice and fried garlic mushrooms filled the room immediately. Everything went quiet as we all started eating.
Half way through my meal I got a phone call. I pulled my phone out of my jeans pocket and looked at the caller I.D., it was the producer. I answered the phone as I stood up. Immediately my face, tone and body language turned business.
"Hello, Boss. Would I be right to assume you are calling regarding the meet n' greet?" I walked out of the room and sat at one of the chairs.
"Yes, hello Blood Angel, you are correct. I need you to sign off on a few new papers first though, all regarding the meet n' greet."
"What do they state?"
"They state that you are fine with doing a meet n' greet, not being paid any extra for doing this unless harm or discomfort are to come to you, your happy to do a meet n' greet that could last up to 8hours, and your happy to do a performance-" I interrupted him there.
"What? I never agreed to that. We are a band, I'm not doing a solo performance!" I was practically fuming, he knew very well because it stated in our contract, we wouldn't perform professional solo performances without the signed consent of every band member.
"I have not forgotten your contract what so ever, you don't have to perform without the written or spoken consent of all band members, this document will not over-ride that, its saying that if you were to get the written consent, or if all members were present, you would do a performance." I mentally sighed in relief.
"Alright, I want that document shared with my manager and my whole band...." We kept talking about the arrangements for the meet n' greet for another 16 minutes until he needed to go to a meeting. We bid farewell and then hung up. I walked back into the dining room.
"Please excuse my rudeness for leaving without a word." I stated as I sat down again, "Would it be possible for my food to be warmed up again?" I turned to one of the maids standing off to the side and asked. She nodded and took my plate away. Everything was silent until my 'father' spoke.
"I take it you do well in business studies then?" I looked at him sceptically but nodded all the same.
"Relatively. I'm a straight B student in business. I get A-'s for music, B's or B-'s for dance, B+'s for drama, c+'s in math, C+'s in English, C-'s in science, and D in social studies." his wife looked shocked at my results.
"Impressive, do you enjoy your classes?" he asked
"Mostly. I don't LOVE my peers, and I find the music theory really boring, not to mention I'm not interested in math or science, but other than that its great. I love my teachers, except for one, who hates my guts." My father chuckles. Soon my food comes back, all warmed up, for the next half an hour or so, we have a light carefree conversation, I couldn't help but smile. 'So this is what its like to have a dad' i thought to myself.
"Ahem! Sorry to interrupt your, conversation." His wife interrupts. We both look at her, humming a 'hmmm'. "But I need to take my husband" she put extra emphases on the word as she smirked at me "away for a while, he and I have a meeting!" My father's eyes went wide as he looked at me waiting for the verdict. I just shrugged it off.
"Sorry, we kind of lost track of time." I turned to my father "I'll leave you to go to work! Have a nice day, and I'll see you later." I got up and walked to the door when I got there though, I turned and smiled at him "I hope we can have more conversations like this one often!" Then turned and walked out heading up to my room. I grabbed my purse and head downstairs to the carpark, where my chosen motorbike sat, parked.
"Evaline!" I turned around and saw my father fast walking, with a suit on, in my direction. I turned and smile.
"What's up?" I ask leaning against the bike.
"Here." He handed me a wad of green cash. I stared at it wide eyed.
"Oh my goodness, I can't accept this!" I said hurriedly.
"I'm your father, and I won't have you paying for your own things as long as your here!" He stated with finality. I hesitantly took the cash and put it in my small bag.
"Thank you so much!" I said, I was back to normal, I wasn't smiling or anything like at breakfast this morning, but I didn't look upset either.
He just nodded. "You ride motorbikes?"
I nodded, "Yeah, and I'm a fighter if you didn't already notice." He flinched slightly at the second part. "Why do you ask?"
"I used to be a lot like you when I was younger. I used to ride motorbikes all the time, and start brawls for the sake of it." He sighed
"I sometimes wish I had grown up sooner, but at the same time, I'm glad I didn't waste my childhood." his back was now to me, and he was walking away.
"Do you still ride?" I call after him. He looked over his shoulder.
"Sometimes," I smirked.
"We should go riding sometime!" He did the most unexpected thing after that, he SMILED! He actually genuinely SMILED! He nodded.
"How about tomorrow night?" I nodded with a slight smile of my own.
"I can't wait." And with that, I mounted my bike, and he walked away. 'Maybe I should forgive him...' but my thoughts were blown away with the wind, as I rode around New York City. Sightseeing the city my father had chosen over me.
