Adonai and Maya decided to go to the park and just talk while sitting on the bench. Maya wanted to ask a pile of questions but the words that came out of her mouth were, "Why did you want to spend the day with me?" Adonai felt a bit thrilled about the question because it had him imagining a lot of thoughts. "Well that's because you seem like a really interesting person and I would like to know you better", he admitted. His black baseball cap seemed to compliment his quiet features. "Well I'm really a shy person and I wouldn't consider myself interesting", she openly said, now stroking her long black hair. "What would you like to do after you finish school then?" Adonai asked. "Uhm...uhm I don't know. But I no longer want to see myself in this miserable place no more, I don't like people a lot", she blatantly said. Within a split second Adonai moved in closer to Maya reaching out for comfort. Maya shrugged him off. He didn't take it to heart and openly confessed, "Maya you really have beautiful eyes, I would say you hold the universe in your eyes. And really seem like a nice person, you have a beautiful smile and you're also smart too." Maya saw herself blushing and the wind blew in her direction, as if it was also complimenting her. Adonai was really amused to see her smile. Maya looked into Adonai's eyes, looking quite confident and said "Thank you, you put a smile on my face, I also would like to get to know you better." They talked about what fascinated them and what their dreams were, they had a lot in common, from their fascination about science to the mystery of the arts. They joked about how the science teacher looked like some weird alien, their giggles were music to the heavens." I love being in the dark, it lets me see the light within", Maya confessed. "How ironic because I see the light in you whenever you smile", Adonai said in a charming manner. "Chivalry does still exist I see, you're a good guy with bad habits", Maya jokingly said, poking Adonai's rib cage. He dodged the last poke and grabbed Maya's hand. "Ouch", she muttered. "Sorry, what is wrong with your hand Maya?" Adonai asked sympathetically. "You won't understand, you'll think I'm a freak", Maya said looking amazed that she didn't run home to cut her skin deeper. "I have been through a lot too, my father abandoned me, my younger sister and mom for a business deal somewhere out of state, I failed a lot of subjects at school because my teachers said I was too hyperactive", Adonai slowly admitted. Maya knew she wasn't the only going through all the pain but she never had imagined Adonai going through all of this. She saw how broken he was but he remained strong. "I'm sorry you went through all of this, I never knew", she compassionately uttered. "It’s okay, why don't we meet up tonight and we can talk more under the beauty of the night sky?" he politely offered, while he stood up heading home ."See you later", she accepted.
