Ouch!- I fell off the bed again?
I hadn't realized I screamed that out loud.
"Sarah, you alright honey?" Shouted my mom from downstairs. Well, she sounded worried.
"Yes mom, just fell off the bed for the millionth time." I exaggarated.
I heard an outburst of laughter immediately after my reply; but it wasn't my mom alone.
I decided to ignore it.
I started searching for my phone, I looked on the table and threw my sheets on the floor, and it's no where to be found!
I rushed down the stairs angrily, ignoring the fact that my boyfriend and my father were sitting around the dining table along with my mother, having breakfast like one big happy family.
"Honey why do you seem so angry?" queried my mother.
"Can I have my phone back?!" I shouted as I folded my arms across my chest.
"Someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning.."
I then heard Alex stifling a laugh; he doesn't even know how much I would like to smash his face to the floor right now.
"You don't plan to follow me?" questioned my mother from the top of the staircase.
I didn't realize she got up, because Alex caught my attention. I immediately followed her.
"Is this what you are looking for?" asked my mom as my jaw fell.
"What? How? Where was it?!"
"On this table."
"But that's the first place I looked!"
A sigh escaped from her lips. "Come downstairs and join us for breakfast okay?"
I watched as she left my room before checking my phone.
Two missed calls and four text messages.
One call is from Anastasia and the other from Alex. All four texts are from Alex. I decided not to call back Ana as yet, but to check the texts.
|Hey babe, can I call you tonight? I'm sorry|-Alexander
|I'm sorry Sarah. But I guess I'll see you in the morning ;)|-Alexander
|You haven't replied..that's fine. I'll be there in an hour.|-Alexander
|I'm almost there Sarah, you can't ignore me at your own house!|-Alexander
Well that explained why he is here. But how can he expect me to forgive him? After seven months of being together..I caught him hitting on Kim Proton, the most popular girl at school. He knows what Kim has done to me in the past. He knows I hate her. He knows that he is in a relationship with me. Yet I find him hitting on a girl..and not just any girl, my enemy. How can he just come here and expect me to forgive him? I really want my space to think. And the thing is...he saw that I was looking at him and Kim in the parking lot; yet he didn't even move! It's like he didn't care!
My thoughts were interrupted by someone knocking on my door.
"Come in." I acknowledged the person behind the door.
The person half opened the door. "I don't want to come in, you are going to come downstairs." commanded my father.
I expected it to be Alex. I was really in the mood to shout and argue with him.
"Dad I-"
"I won't ask you again." I was interrupted. He then returned downstairs.
Damn. My father is so scary. I wish I had the courage to tell him my mind sometimes. That's why I like when he goes away for a few days; even though my mother hates it. This time he was away for a whole week, no one knew where he went, not even my mother, his wife. She got really worried. I was worried a little bit too, but I was also happy.
I found myself unwillingly walking downstairs, and taking a seat beside Alexander. The other chairs were broken, and this was the only one available. Of course, my parents did that on purpose.
I said my grace and began to dig into my food. My mother made an egg, bacon and cheese sandwich for me.
"Honey, do you want to explain to me what you did to Alex?" my mother blurted, breaking the silence.
Oh.my.God. This boy is out of his mind!
"What are you talking about?" I yelled, this time not on purpose.
"I would appreciate if you stop fucking shouting every time you speak!" my father complained.
I wanted to cry right there. His words hurt me so much. I just wanted to excuse myself as tears began to form at my eyes.
"Your father is right Sarah. He just didn't bring it across properly. Please don't cry" my mother comforted me, as usual. Again,as usual, it worked. The tears immediately went away.
"As i was saying, Alex told me that you owe him an apology; so I assumed you did something wrong." she continued.
Now I was getting really angry. But i couldn't shout again.
"Okay." I murmured. That is all I managed to say, even though I wanted to say much more.
"Well Sarah, aren't you going to apologise?" Alex interjected.
Hmm, if I apologise he will leave. If I don't, he will just stay here and annoy me more than he already is.
"I'm sorry Alex." I finally said.
I looked up to see a smile on my mothers face.
"I forgive you Sarah. I'll call you when I get home." he concluded as he got up from his seat.
"Goodbye, Mr. And Mrs.Logan." he added. "And thank you for helping me to get Sarah to apologise."
My parents nodded and waved to him as he walked away.
My plan worked. He left.
My father got up as soon as Alex exited the house.
"Thanks for breakfast Jennifer. This is why I love you." my father announced.
"You don't love her." I objected.
"Sarah, Sarah, Sarah."
"Sometimes, you just need to shut the fuck up."
I've had enough. My father has never cursed at me like this. Infact, he did it twice in a row.
This time the tears spilled right out of my eyes. I'm sure he saw them as I ran upstairs, but I don't care; and neither does he.
I heard my mother call after me, but I just needed to be alone.
