You sighed as you sat your large bed, your legs were crossed and you were looking out across the snow covered fields outside. Downstairs you heard another loud shout, followed by a bang. For a while you sat with your hands covering your ears and your eyes squeezed shut. You were used to doing this, you had been doing it since you were young. Your Father was usually shouting and throwing things through anger, he had been for as long as you could remember. Your Mother was usually the one to receive the blows from him, although you sometimes did, too. Usually to stop him hitting your younger brother. When you finally moved your hands and heard the shouting had stopped, you walked over to your door, opened it and sighed when you saw your brother sitting outside of his door, his legs were brought up to his chest and he was crying. You crept over to him, knelt down and smiled when he looked over at you. As you told him to he quiet, you picked him up and walked him into his bedroom, tucked him in to his bed and stayed with him until he managed to fall asleep. You felt a twinge of guilt in your chest as you looked at your brother and thought about your plan. You had everything ready, your bag was already packed with extra clothes, a book and a cable for your phone. You pressed a small kiss to your brother's head before you quietly left his room, once again hearing a loud crash coming from downstairs before your Father shouted. You got the bag from your room, put on your coat, hat, gloves and scarf as well as putting on some heavy snow boots and took one last look around before you left. You snook down the hall, relieved that your parents were in the front room, gathered some food from the kitchen and ran through the back door. You didn't stop running until you were about half an hour away from the house. You turned to look behind you and saw only snow, with more falling from the sky. With a sigh you carried on walking through the thick snow, stopping when the sky was dark and the snow was now surrounding your shins. You groaned as you tried to walk, however find it hard. You were not shivering and pulled your mobile from your pocket, only to sigh with frustration when you saw you had no signal. As you walked a little further you saw the dim lights of a cottage in the distance, you sighed with relief and walked as fast as you could through the thick snow, struggling to reach the cabin. When you did you held onto the wooden banister rail and pulled yourself out of the snow. Looking through the window you could see some lights lit, along with a shadow moving around inside. As you sighed you knocked on the door and moved back as you waited for the door to open. When it did, a small man with blonde hair and a kind smile looked at you with wide eyes.
"Oh, my dear! Come in, before you catch your death!" He said as he opened the door wide and allowed you in. You nodded in thanks. "Stand in front of the fire. I'll make some coco." You warmed your hands in front of the fire and breathed a sigh of relief as you started to feel them again. "Here." You thanked the man with another nod and took a drink, sighing deeply when it warmed your chest and throat.
"Thank you so much." You finally managed to say, he simply smiled and shook his head. "I won't bother you for long, I'm sorry for bothering you in the first place, I got a little lost and I didn't expect a snow storm." The man smiled and shook his head as he continued to set the table.
"Don't be silly! You can stay as long as you wish! Please, join us for dinner!" He asked, you smiled and took another drink from your coco. "Oh! Where are my manners? I'm Tino Väinämöinen!"
"(name)." You replied as you shook the man's hand and smiled. "Are you sure I'm not disturbing anything?" The man simply smiled and shook his head.
"The others will be back soon, they went for more firewood. I live with four of my friends. Don't worry, they are all kind and won't mind you staying here. Just remember, the tall one isn't as scary as he looks." Tino told you, you smiled and nodded as you took another drink. Just then, the door swung open and four figures walked into the room, all were wearing thick coats with hoods and shivered. When the last person walked into the room, they slammed the door and laughed when Tino jumped.
"Jeez, calm down, Tino!" The voice said as the person took down their hood, shooting a smile to Tino. He took off his coat and then turned to look at you, looking a little surprised to see you at first, before he smiled again. "Who's this?"
"Oh, this poor thing was wandering around outside! I told her she can stay as long as she wishes to." Tino told the four men. The other two had now removed their jackets and you instantly noticed the man Tino had told you about. He was the tallest of the five and wore glasses and a stern expression.
"I, um, I'm (name). I'm sorry for the intrusion." You said as you stood and shook the smiling man's hand. He took it and shook it quickly with a tight grip, making you laugh a little.
"No worries! I'm Mathias!" He told you in a cheerful tone. You smiled and nodded. You shook the other mens' hands and discovered they were called Berwald, Lukas and Emil.
"Dinner will be ready soon. How about you make our guest feel more at home?" Tino said, Matthias nodded and sat back down on the couch with you, as did Emil. Lukas excused himself and walked down the hallway leading off from this room whilst Berwald helped Tino in the kitchen.
"So, where are you from?" Emil asked, you smiled and finished the mug of coco Tino had made you.
"Let me guess! Let me guess!" Mathias exclaimed as he tapped your knee, you laughed and nodded. "Okay...France?" You shook your head. "America?" Another shake. "England?" And another. "Greece?" Another shake and a laugh. He thought for a few moments before he clicked his fingers and pointed to you. "Canada!" Another shake.
"Germany." Emil said, you turned around to smile and nod to him, hearing a noise come from Mathias.
"How did you know that?" He asked, you and Emil both laughed before Mathias stood and walked into the kitchen, soon returning with three beers. "Do you drink?" You smiled and nodded, thanking him when he handed you a bottle.

After you had all eaten, Tino and Berwald cleared away the dishes and told the rest of you to sit on the couches until they were finished. Lukas and Emil left the cabin, though didn't say where they were going.
"So, what brought you all the way out here? You're far from Germany." Mathias said as he sat beside you on the couch and handed you another beer.
"My Father got a job here a last year so we all had to move out." You told him, he smiled and nodded as he took a drink from his beer. You looked out of the window, wandering if they had realised you were gone or if your Mother and Brother were alright. When the door opened again, Emil and Lukas walked back in, holding two more crates of beer, making you laugh. Berwald and Tino walked back into the room from the kitchen and sat down on the other couch, whilst Emil sat beside you and Lukas in the chair in the corner..
"Hey, guess where we're from!" Mathias suddenly exclaimed, you smiled and nodded. "Here's the countries of choice: Norway, Iceland, Denmark, Sweden and Finland!" You took a drink as you looked around at the men, scanning their faces carefully. After a few moments, you nodded and turned to Emil.
"I'm going to say... you're from Iceland?" He smiled and nodded, making you smile as you turned to Lukas. "Denmark?" He shook his head and you hummed, turning to Berwald. "Definitely Sweden!" He nodded and have a small smile before he took a drink from his beer. "So... I'll say Mathias is from Denmark and Tino is from Finland!" Mathias applauded, making you smile.
"You're good at guessing!" Lukas commented as he took a drink from his beer and stretched his arms up into the air as he yawned. "So, where are you sleeping?" You turned to look at him and smiled.
"I don't mind having a roomie." Mathias said with a smile, making you laugh.
"We'll clear the spare room. Berwald, Mathias, you two don't mind doing it, do you?" Tino asked, the two men shook their heads, finished their beer and stood from the couch to empty the room. Tino led you around the cabin, showing you were everything was. It was only small, however it was long and had a total of six rooms along the corridor. "I'm afraid you're next door to Mathias, when he starts to snore just bang on the wall." You laughed and nodded as you looked into room they had cleared for you. "The bathroom is at the end, next to mine and Berwald's room." You smiled and nodded before wishing the guys goodnight and walked into your room. The furniture was all made from oak and looked rather old, your window had a good view of the mountains covered with snow, which was still falling. The bed was large and had a blanket over the cover which was colourful and looked hand knitted. As you brought your bag onto the bed and pulled out your phone, you saw you still had no signal and sighed as you returned it to your bag. You were stating to feel guilty about leaving your Mother and Brother behind. Maybe you should have told them about your plan to run away and bring them with you. You were brought out of your thoughts when someone knocked on the door before Mathias looked around, his eyes were closed tightly which made you raise one eyebrow.
"I wasn't sure if you were undressing, but I wanted to give you this." He said as he held a large sweat shirt around the door. You smiled and opened the door wider, telling him he could open his eyes. When he did, he smiled to you.
"Thanks for this, Mathias." You said as you looked at the baggy sweat shirt before placing it on the bed. He simply smiled and shrugged.
"It can get cold here, I just wanted to make sure you'd be warm enough." He told you with a sweet smile. "Well, I'm just next door if you want anything!" you thanked him again and said goodnight before the bedroom door closed. You looked at the sweatshirt, enjoying the warmth and feel of it, before you undressed and pulled it over your head. It reached your knees and was very baggy, making you feel comfortable and tired. You turned out the light and climbed into bed, pulling the covers up around your shoulders as your eyes grew heavier and slowly closed.
