(Friday)

“No! No no no no! I vote for The Conjuring!” Winter screamed. I winced.

“Hell no! I’m not exactly in the mood to piss my pants right now, thank you very much!” I yelled back. She poked her bottom lip out and I copied her action. We stared at each other for a minute and then crossed our arms over our chests, turning towards Carter who is sitting on the couch waiting for us to stop arguing. Let’s just say that this is a regular thing when we have sleepovers.

When he noticed us looking at him his eyes got huge and he shook his head frantically, waving his hands around.

“Oh no! There is no way in hell that I’m going to be dragged into the middle of your guys’ little screaming match. I told you that I don’t care what movie we watch. You guys can decide.” My eyes narrowed and just as I opened my mouth to reply the doorbell rang. I looked in that direction with furrowed eyebrows.

Who the hell would be ringing the doorbell right now? It’s almost eleven o’clock at night on a Friday and Mom isn’t even here right now. She usually takes Michael to one of her friend’s houses and they stay there for the night when we have sleepovers. I told her that she doesn’t have to because it makes me feel bad but she said that it’s fine and that she doesn’t mind as long as the house isn’t in ruins by the time she gets back.

“I’ll get it,” I said, leaving the room and going to the door. It rang again and I picked up the pace. “I’m coming!” I yelled. I unlocked it and then opened the door.

“What the hell are you- Why are you here? And at this time?” Jacob stood before me wearing a pair of sweatpants and a white t-shirt. His hair is messy in the ‘just got out of bed’ way and his full lips are twisted up into the smirk that seems to always be present on his handsome face.

When I met his eyes again I saw amusement in them and glared up at him.

“I came to join your little slumber party. Seems I could hear you all the way over at my house and couldn’t go to sleep.”

“What-“ was all I managed to get out before he shoved past me, kicking off his shoes like he owned the place. My mouth dropped open and I turned to face him.

“Are you coming or are you going to stand there all night with your mouth hanging open?” He asked, raising his eyebrows and smirking at me. It took me a second to process what he said and the fact that he’s already halfway down the hall.

“What… what the hell?... Get out of my house!” My voice got louder at the end and I gestured to the door with my hand. He tilted his head and his smirk grew bigger. I glared daggers at him and gestured to the door again. “Out. Now.” His smirk became seductive and he turned on his heel, coming back towards me slowly.

I tried to dodge around him but he caught me around the waist and brought me back in front of him. I felt my back touch the door and scowled up at him, clenching my jaw. That quickly backfired when our eyes locked and my knees became weak. God dammit. His eyes get me every single time.

“You might want to be careful sweetheart. I think I’ve already told you that you’re hot when angry. It turns me on a bit.” His nose skimmed up the length of my neck, causing me to shudder and tingles to form where he touched me. “Oh, and I like the outfit.” He backed away, sent me one last smirk, and disappeared down the hall without a word.
