It was Arthur's turn to stare at the strange man, "....What?"

"Ah, bloody hell, just gimme tha girl!" Captain Kirkland shouted, "Ah don' have time for this!"

Captain Kirkland's crew advanced, but Alice shoved one out of the way and ran for the edge of the ship, readying herself for the crash of cold water. The pirate crew went after her but Captain Kirkland was already ahead of them all. one of the crew members who waited on his ship tossed a rope out, and he grabbed it just as Alice launched herself over the deck. She hadn't even begun to descend when the Captain jumped out after her, wrapping and arm around her waist.

The rope tensed as they swung, and he released it just as they hovered over the deck. Captain Kirkland landed with her still held tight, but she was fighting, trashing against his grip, "ARTHUR!!! ARTHUR!!!"

"Ah'm right here~!" He said mockingly.

"I DON'T MEAN YOU, BLOODY TWAT!!!"

He just lifted her from the ground as his crew went back to the boat, the gentlemanly Arthur who sat on the ship giving one last fight to reach Alice. But the Captain took her below deck, and the crew member who he fought smacked his sword into Arthur's head, sending the Brit reeling back before he collapsed.

-------

Captain Kirkland set her down calmly, but she didn't behave that way- immediately, Alice turned and smacked the pirate, before running around him and jerking the door open. He snatched her small wrist up (though, was surprisingly gentle with his touch- that fact seemed to escape her, however) and pushed her back to the wall, kicking the door shut. When she went to punch him, he grabbed her arm and pinned it to the wall as well, pushing all of his weight against her.

She was glaring bitterly and he was smirking, "Are ye don' foolin' 'round, lassie~?"

That was the attitude the young lady would soon come to hate, "What do you want from me." Alice snarled, attempting to free herself from his grip. He chuckled, freeing her wrists from his calloused hands, though leaning into the door.

Her eyes examined the Captain, taking in the clothes he wore, the way he looked identical to Arthur...was this man some sort of creature? Alice had heard of German creature, called 'Aufhockers' which can shape shift and kill their victims. But they didn't waste time like this (that's what her book said, at least) and she highly doubted that such a creature would go through all of the trouble. Alice's green eyes avoided his, however; instead, she drank in the long red coat he wore, examining the thin white shirt he wore beneath it and seeing the many charms glimmering from the ends of the necklaces he wore...

"...Aye, ye even listenin'?" Captain Kirkland frowned slightly when he saw her eyes flash to his, hostility bubbling up inside of her. But that look faded, and his own expression became serious, "Ah don' wanna fight ye. Ah took ye f'r a reason, not jus' cause ah like women."

"And what reason would that be?" Alice snapped. Captain Kirkland walked close to her, circling her like a wolf would to a dog- she was something different, something that could be hostile but something that, with a little training, could be identical to him. She felt his eyes running across her and longed to be beside her Arthur- No, this man wasn't Arthur at all! He couldn't be!

...Could he?

If magic was possible...could he be real? One from the past, maybe?

But that was silly! Time travel, that was dangerous magic...only a poor, desperate soul would fall into such a silly trap.

"....Ye look jus' like her....ye know that?" He reached to touch her golden pigtails, and she sucked in a breath as he twirled the strand on his finger, before his hand went to brush across her cheek. Alice pulled away but he grabbed her face and held her in place, feeling her skin, "....ye even got th' same feel ta yeh...she had th' smoothest skin..."

"Don't touch me!" The lady snapped, jerking away from her captor once more. But he snatched her wrist up again, pulling her as close to him as he could without frightening her too much.

"Ah need yer help, Lassie."

Alice stared at the now desperate eyes of the Pirate Captain who had seemed so cocky before hand, and just kept staring.

Was she to trust this mysterious man, the man who beat her brother and the man who kidnapped her? The man who had killed people on that ship, and who lead such a rowdy crew in the first place?

What if he was a murder? What if he was waiting for her to agree, before killing her brutally and dumping her into the salty brine that was the Atlantic?

"....And how can I help you?"

Captain Kirkland was looking deep into her eyes. Deep, deep into those emerald green orbs that so closely resembled his own sister's, to those eyes who were part of the woman who could be both his savior and his final end.

"Ah need ye ta be a pirate. Jus' f'r me. Jus' f'r once, Alice."
