Prologue Part 4: Carrying a Legacy

Greetings everyone my name is Aliza Swann. I am part of the Swann legacy. What's so great about my legacy you might be think, well lets just say my family goes way back. Even before the Great War had begun, my grand parents have been hunters and huntresses. I am one of four children to Victoria Swann and Alexander Swann. My siblings include three older brothers and each have passed through Beacon Academy, and now it's my turn to follow in their foot steps.

My story is actually a very simple one, so I'll give you the quick run down. Everyone in my family usually turns into a hunter or huntress, don't get me wrong you don't have to be a hunter or huntress for my family, but when everyone is a hunter or huntress you kind of just follow the path as well. Needless to say though I knew that I had to be a huntress. With three older brothers you start to pick up a few tricks as well.

"Come on Aliza you have to be faster then that." My brother teasing me as I had missed him again.

"Stop going easy on me Klaus." Frustrated I dashed at him jabbing my spear at him.

"Come on Aliza, become one with Stormchaser. You can do better than that" He said as he blocked another one of my attacks with his bō, Frostbite. I swung once more, but he blocked my attack and then swiped my legs with his bō. "Game." He said with his trademark smile. He extended his hand as I grabbed it and he pulled me up. "You let your frustration beat you." He said as he switched his bō to it's inactive mode.

"I know, I know." I sigh as i to change my spear to it's inactive mode.

"But that isn't the reason. What's up with you Aliza? Why do you seem distracted?"

I sigh and sit down on the grass. "I'm just nervous that I'm going to make a fool of myself. I mean look at you, Pierce, and Zander. You were all at the top of your class." He smiles and rubs my head.

"Come on Aliza, you know and I know that we didn't do it by yourselves. We all had teams that worked together, and soon your going to have a team soon as well."

I shake my head. "But..." He raises his hand.

"Aliza listen to me. I was nervous, Pierce was nervous, and Zander was nervous. It's ok to be nervous for a starting huntress. The reason we did so well was because we had our teammates to back us up, and you're not going to be any different." We begin to walk around in Vale, passing strangers and looking at the different shops and stores. Since all of my brothers have gone to Beacon we were one of the first ones there; however, since the school year didn't begin until tomorrow me and Klaus decided to hang out, train, and get ready for the big day.

"How do you think Zander and Pierce are doing? I mean I know they're on assignments, but..." I asked Klaus. He answered with a simple shrug.

"I haven't talked to Zander for about six months. For Pierce, well last time I checked he was in Haven or he just left Haven. For those two though it's always work, work, and more work." Even though Klaus was the oldest of my brothers, he was the laziest when it came to taking jobs, but he has an almost perfect record of finishing missions and/or assignments. After eating some dinner at a local restaurant we entered the hotel we were staying at and checked into our room.

"I don't know about you, but I'm going to bed." Klaus said as he fell onto his bed.

"Already? It's only 6:30." I looked at him with confusion as he usually would stay up later then most. He popped his head up from the bed.

"I have a new mission starting tomorrow and I'll have to get up early."

"Oh I see." I go into the bathroom and begin to take a shower. The same thoughts keep running in my head as the warm water hit my face. "Am I going to make a fool of myself? Am I going to be put on a team that is hard working? Am I going to even like my teammates?" Honestly I couldn't tell myself. I turn the water off and wrap myself in a towel. I dry myself and put on my night gown. I pull out my diary and begin to write another entry.

'Entry Number 3451

Dear Diary,

Another day of hard work and training. It seems like everyday I'm taking one step forward and two steps back. I am getting better with Stormchaser as I only needed to use the spear and not the shotgun. Sadly overtime as I fight I always doubt my abilities and always have a problem overcoming it. I have worked so hard for this moment training with each one of my family members. I know that the future is going to bright for me though. I know deep in my heart that i will continue the Swann Legacy and make everyone so proud. With that I look towards Beacon Academy, my future team, and my various years being fully trained, meeting new friends, and finally be able to say that I am a full fledged huntress.
