My name is Casey Jones I am a sixteen year old living in the suburb of st kilda. My younger brother jake is the most annoying person in the world, he continually beats me in everything and boasts about how good looking he is. How does he deserve to get all the good genes? He's always picking on me he teases me about a guy he thinks I like when the reality is I already like someone else. His name is Adam Samuels and he is the most popular boy in school. I always tell myself to give up as I have no chance with him seeing as I seem to be the school nerd. My glasses give me the look while my enthusiasm in class and obvious brilliance finished the package. I may not act like like a complete dork and according to my best friend Marissa I am quite pretty but all the other girls seem to pick on me and tease me. They are like a never ending source of ideas everyday they are able to find something new to tease me about. Whether it's the boy they think I like or the what I day dream about in class, the way I crack my fingers all the time and plenty other things. I know eventually they will learn that there is more to life than teasing and bullying people but that day obviously is not coming soon.
Today my best friend Marissa is coming back from a trip to tassie and has said she has a surprise for me. I'm meeting her today at our favourite resteraunt the Golden Dumpling. A Chinese restaurant placed somewhere in the docklands, where exatly it is I can never quite remember.
" Hey slow poke, late again are you?" Marissa called out to me as I finally arrived.
" Yep. lost my way yet again, you know me well enough to know that I could never be on time even if my life depended on it." I stated, " " Anyway how was your trip to tassie?" I asked as I sat opposite her.
" It was great, there was so many old buildings and the beaches were amazing." She exclaimed," although that's not why I invited you here today. I have something for you." Marissa then pulled something out of her bag. " Now close your eyes and hold your arms out." I felt Marissa place some sort of fabric into my outstretched arms. " you can open your eyes now." I opened my eyes and looked down. There in my arms was a white summer dress. I held it up to examine it and found that it was completely stunning. It was short reaching down to what looked like about mid thigh. It was strapless wich I didn't usually like but with this dress it was different. It also had a lace band around the middle just below the bust. I also liked it because it wasent fancy it was simple and beautiful.
"It's beautiful!" I exclaimed, "I love it it, I love it." I then leand across the table hugging my best friend as she had just given me ny new favourite dress.
"I thought you would. Now lets order something before I starve to death."
As a waiter passed by i asked her for a serve of prawn wantons, prawn dumplings and some chinese tea to clench our thirst. As we waited for the food Marissa complained about why resteraunts didn't have a time machine so that they wouldn't take so long. When we fineally got our food we talked and ate. Marissa told me about all the fun things she did in tassie. As we left and said our goodbyes Marissa shouted out at me.
"Cassey this year my aim is to get you something you have dreamed of for the past few years." Then she turned around the corner and I started walking towards the bus. What could she mean by get me something I have been dreaming about for the past few years? Oh well I need to get home, I have so much homework to do.
