Lol, I'm dumb. I published this chapter without even realizing I hadn't even finished it yet

(Y/F/F)= Your favorite flavor
"So let me get this straight: you want me to help you ask out my best friend?"
You gave him a sheepish grin, as you sipped your iced tea. "Well...yeah."
"And why would I do that?"
You thought for a moment. "Because....you're a nice person?"
He rolled his eyes and continued to sip his ice coffee. "Gotta do better than that, honey."
"Oh come on, Mitch. Pleeeeease? I really like him. Besides, you did say you wanted me to get back into the dating game."
"Well, I did say that..." Mitch mused. "And I don't hate the idea of you and him together.."
He was close to saying yes. You just needed to seal the deal.
"Oh, Mitch? Did I ever tell you you're my best customer?" You batted your eyelashes.
He didn't even react. "Does the best customer get free ice coffees for the week?"
Your face fell. "Fine."
Mitch smiled and patted your arm. "Don't worry, Mitchy's got you covered. I'll have that boy falling head over heels for you."
You laughed. "Speaking of him, where is here?"
Mitch sipped his coffee again. "Oh, he should be here right about..."
The door suddenly swung open. In walked a tall, blond man, in a bit of a rush. He made his way over to you and Mitch. He plopped down on a seat at the counter. You gave him his usual order, which he thanked you for.
"Hey Mitch, sorry I'm late," he said, breathless.
So-said person threw him a sidelong look as he sipped his coffee. "Mhm."
Scott laughed and gave him a hug. "Aw, don't be like that. I still love you."
You couldn't help but flinch at the word "love." Yes, the famous Scomiche couple, who's bond is inseparable. I mean, you knew that Scott and Mitch were only best friends, but you wondered if maybe....
"(Y/N)?" Scott and Mitch were both staring you now.
You were brought back from your thoughts. "Huh?"
Scott gave you a strange look. "You okay? You spaced out a little there."
"Yeah," you answered, running a hand through your hair. "I was just thinking about something."
"I bet I could guess what it is." Mitch, still sipping his stupid coffee. You blushed and threw him a dirty look.
Scott's gaze went from you to Mitch, and back again. "O-o-okay, I won't ask what that was about."
You could only laugh awkwardly, while hoping Scott doesn't think you're a weirdo and avoids you forever. Luckily, he didn't seem fazed.
"Anyway, " the baritone continued, "Mitch, we may or may not have received the ball pit that we ordered!" He could barely contain the excitement in his voice.
Mitch smiled brightly. "Oh my God, that's awesome! We can finally put it in our living room!"
You laughed. "You got a ball pit for your living room?"
Scott looked serious for a moment. "You didn't?" Then he burst into laughter.
It was a wonderful sound. Like...music to your ears. His laughter made you laugh, and soon the two of you were just erupting in giggles.
Mitch stared at the both of you. "You guys are just embarrassing."
You snorted at him, catching a glance at the clock.
"Oh shoot, my break's almost over. Gotta head back to the counter soon." You prepared to stand up from the booth when Scott grabbed your arm. The sudden contact surprised you, and you sat back down.
"Wait, (Y/N)! You remember Saturday, right?"
You playfully scoffed at him. "Of course I do!" Then you leaned towards Mitch. "What's Saturday?" you stage-whispered.
Scott rolled his eyes. "It's the picnic, dummy. The one in the park."
"The one that makes us look painfully cliche," the tenor added helpfully.
"Right. Got it." You stood up and grabbed your empty cup. "Anyways, guys I've gotta go--"
"Oh, here." Scott suddenly thrust his half full cup at you.
You stared at him blankly. "So, do you want me to throw it out or...?"
"No, I'm giving it to you. Y'know, for extra fuel for today," he retracted his hand, slightly, "I mean, unless you don't want it..." His expression had the tiniest amount of dejection.
"No, I....no, it's just....thanks. That's thoughtful of you." You took the cup from him, and his smile returned. It was a smile you've seen so many times, yet it still made your stomach flip-flop. The way that his blue eyes brightened up suddenly found you unable to form another sentence. You were just grinning like an idiot, until Mitch spoke up:
"I think someone's calling you," he motioned behind you. One of your coworkers, tapping on her wrist, indicating the time.
"Right. Well, anyway I'll see you guys later," you said, getting up. All three of you said your goodbyes, and you headed to the counter to continue your job.
As you put your apron and name tag back on, Mitch approached the counter. "You asked me to help you, but I don't think you'll need my help at all."
"What do you mean?"
He smirked. "Hadn't you wondered why Scott ordered one of your favorite drinks?"
And with that plus a little wave, he was out the door.
You took a sip of the coffee Scott had given you. You took in the rich taste of (Y/F/F).
Which was one of the reasons why you loved that kind of coffee.
