Romina's P.O.V

I awoke in my bed, confused. The last thing I remembered was writing Severus that apology, although the parchment was gone.

"Damn it! What if someone found it?! Thank God there were no details-" I stopped mid sentence when I heard a crumple beneath my hand as I sat up. I looked down and saw a letter with my name on it.

Miss Night,

If you could come to my office after dinner, we can discuss our recent events.

S.S.

Really? He shoved a tray at me, well, in my direction, and now he was all calm? I still didn't blame him, and I didn't expect an apology, but his bipolar was definitely getting out of hand.

I skipped dinner asI knew the anxiety eating at my stomach wouldn't allow a single bite of food to stay down, and waited until everyone left the hall before going down to his office. I knocked and after a moment he called, "enter."

"Professor," I quietly acknowledged as I walked to the chair in front of his desk.

"Miss Night, before we begin our discussion, I would appreciate a more thorough explanation." He calmly stated as he laced his fingers together.

I took a deep breath and started, "Alright... Um, as you have inquired about, I have secrets that only Dumbledore and McGonagall know about. The stress of it all led me to use alcohol as a stress relief. However, I felt safer if no one could recognize me, so I changed my appearance with an ability I was born with. I haven't run into too much trouble until the night of our first encounter, which I was ever so grateful for. I really didn't expect things to go as far as they-"

"What do you mean?"

"Us... in bed."

"Are you suspecting that we were intimate?" His face was expressionless but I could see the amusement in his eyes.

"W-well, yeah? I was basically naked next to you..."

"Miss Night, nothing of the sort happened between us. You were begging me to stay until you fell asleep because you were scared to be alone. I would have still left had you not been bawling your drunken eyes out." Much to my surprise, he chuckled.

"Then why were most of my clothes off?" My shoulders dropped, almost out of disappointment.

"Now that you mention it, I vaguely remember you complaining of being too hot in the middle of the night, but I was too tired to really care or notice. You left before I awoke, so I hadn't thought about it." He leaned back and watched as I put all the pieces together in my head.

"Yeah, I guess that makes sense." I looked up at him and felt tears start to form, "I truly am sorry, I wanted to tell you but... I was scared. I obviously didn't mean to run into you a second time, and had I known you frequented the area, I wouldn't have gone back."

He must have noticed my glossy eyes because his demeanor changed, "Miss Night-"

"I swear, I never meant to hurt or betray you, and I know I'm horrible, but I do feel terrible about my actions. I do have a heart, you know." I looked down at the floor, anxious as to what he had to say next.

"First off, as your professor, I would like to apologize for losing myself in the infirmary, especially after you were just injured. There is a time and place to lose yourself and doing so in front of a student who is in a hospital bed surely is not it," I noticed the guilt form on his face. "Second, I do hope you learned your lesson and stay away from that place. Whether you're thirty or twenty, the bar is no place for a young woman to drink alone."

"Y-yes, Sir. I do not plan to go back again."

"Unfortunately, even though you are an adult, you are still a student and your actions must be punished. As punishment, and as your protector, I demand you let me in on your, so called, secrets."

My knees started bouncing out of anxiety and I couldn't bring myself to open my mouth, "I am waiting, I will not refrain from entering your mind and seeing it for myself."

"Just try to understand, please?" He nodded and I continued, "My father is... Was... Tom Riddle..." I didn't dare look at him, but I heard a quill snap. I took the silence as a means to continue, "my mother was some witch that devoted herself to him and I guess I killed her in childbirth... Voldemort didn't want me, naturally, so he locked me up until I was rescued by Dobby. Albus assumed he would come after me for my power, seeing as I'm as powerful as he was, but now Albus fears the remaining death eaters will come for me, that's where you-" My eyes tightened as I heard his door slam and he was gone.

How could he not be upset? First, I pretended to be some older woman that he was connecting with, then he finds out I'm the filthy spawn of the piece of shit that controlled him and tortured him, not to mention tried to kill him. Maybe it was a mistake to stay...

I stood abruptly and ran to Minerva's office, "Professor, I need a word, it's urgent!"

"What happened, dear?" Her wide eyes snapped to mine.

"I... I want to leave. I'll do anything to continue school elsewhere. For Severus' sake, let me leave."

"I am not sure that would be a wise decision." Albus expressed from his portrait.

"I-it isn't just about me, anymore. My whole existence is basically torture to him." I couldn't believe I allowed tears to fall in front of the headmistress and ex-headmaster.

"My dear, Severus has already asked for time off to situate you both." Minerva assured me as she placed a hand on my shoulder.

"What? No, I'm sure he'll break my neck the next time he sees me."

"As tempting as that seems... " I jumped when Severus spoke from the other side of the room.

"You've-"

"Unfortunately, I have been here the entire time. Now, quit your blubbering and go pack your belongings before you come up with another ridiculous assumption about me." I didn't hesitate to run out.

I packed my trunk and rushed down the stairs before colliding with Severus, "You insolent woman, watch where you are going!"

"I could say the same," I mumbled when I looked at his glaring eyes.

"Now is not the time for your cheek. Let's go." I followed him to the gates when he turned and pulled me tight against his chest and then with a pop, we were planted firmly on our feet. He subtly checked me over for a second before leading me inside, "this is my home, make yourself comfortable. Just don't go touching everything and making a mess."

"Where will I sleep?" I shyly asked.

"There are two bedrooms, I'm sure you can differentiate which one is mine, leaving you with the other." With that, he turned and headed into what looked like a private library, slamming the door behind him. He had a habit of doing that.

I figured which room was mine and unpacked the little belongings I brought with me. I thought I would check out the neighborhood before bed in the beautiful night, but when I reached the front door, my hand started burning which made my eyes water. However, the pain kept growing which caused me to fall to my knees and cry out. I heard Severus whip open his door and kneel beside me in a flash, "what on earth did you do?!"
