" So Lola.... how is your boyfriend?"
" My boyfriend. Uh.... I don't really have one." He looked surprised because probably he thought me and Jake were dating, well at least that's what everyone else at the party thought. I mean before they saw Jake and Macy together. When me and Jake walked in together, everyone was staring. I knew Jake was popular, but I didn't know he was the freakin' king of our school. All of the girls were staring at me...
That had never happened to me before. I felt kind of nervous I guess.
" Lola? Are you listening?"
" Oh yes, sorry. I'm listening." I wasn't. I couldn't care less about what he was saying. I think it was about Joyce or something. I was thinking about Macy and Jake. Macy never told me, did she? But, I guess if she is happy, then I'm happy.
" Lola what do you think?" I honestly didn't know what he was talking about.
" I think yes."
" Great, thanks Lola. I'll go do that now."
" Ok Dean, good luck!" Then he left just like that. I didn't even know where he was going, or what he was doing. I just hoped that I didn't tell him to go do something he'll regret.
I was home alone, and finally had some time for myself. I knew what I was going to do, take a long shower. After what happened yesterday, and me not remembering anything after the coconut rum I had, I really needed to sort some things out in my head.
Right when I was picturing the relaxing day I would be having at home, I heard my phone ringing. No body usually called me on Saturdays. Come to think of it, nobody usually called me. Accept Macy or Trish of course, but I haven't heard from them since last night. Even if I have, I can't remember.
" Hey Lola."
" Ummm, hi? You are...?"
" It's me Jake. I need to talk to you. It's urgent. Meet me at the starbucks near the school. " Right when I was planning a relaxing day at home, come to think of it I do need to study, and look what I got. An "urgent" call from Jake. I got dressed, ereased my makeup, got my car keys and headed for starbucks.
When I got there, I saw Jake waiting for me. He looked nervous. His nervousness was making me nervous too. I kept my cool, and walked towards Jake.
" What's up?"
" Yeah hi. There's something I need to tell you Lola. You might want to sit down." So I sat, he was looking at me with this big brown eyes of his. He took my hands, and then took a deep breath.
" Lola... I think I'm falling in love with you." Wow, I was not expecting that. I mean, it's been like three days since we met. Well, since I met him, I had a feeling he had known me for a while now. Oh shit. Wait, what about Macy? I thought they were like "together."
" Jake, are you serious? Look, I don't think this was a good idea. I'm leaving."
" Lola wait." He was holding my arm now to make me stay.
" You will be explaining this to Macy." He had let my arm go now, so I left.
I had forgotten about Macy, no way was I telling her about what happened. She would get heart broken. If Jake chooses to tell her, well, that's not my problem then.
While I was walking thinking about what had just happened, I was clunged by my hand, and someone pulled me to the back of the tree, positioned me right infront of them so I could see his eyes looking down at me, he smiled and started kissing me. I was startled, so it took me a while to comprehend who it was.
